I recently fixed one of the videos of Marion Cotillard joining Maud Fontenoy & 300 kids on high sea as godmother of the Maud Fontenoy Fondation. Also La Chaîne de Cœur released a more extensive video about the successful collaboration between the Public Aid Association, the municipality of La Rochelle and the Maud Fontenoy Fondation – in fact they will repeat the experience next summer. I added screencaptures from the video as well as more photos from the event.
On another note, there are rumours that ‘Rust & Bone‘ will screen during the notoriously secretive Telluride Film Festival this weekend (August 31 – September 3) ever since Hollywood Elsewhere reported that there will be festival tributes for Mads Mikkelsen and Marion Cotillard. How exciting would that be?!
Marion Cotillard was in La Rochelle (France) yesterday. She joined her friend Maud Fontenoy who with her foundation – of which Marion is the godmother – organized a huge event for kids between 9 and 12 from all over France who had never seen the sea and never been on a boat before. For 30 years the Public Aid Association in France is organizing “The Days for the Ones Forgotten by the Holidays” (La Journée des oubliés des vacances). This year La Rochelle hosted the 4 day event and joined forces with Maud Fontenoy Fondation. The activities included visits to the aquarium as well as to the maritime museum and swimming.
On Monday, Marion joined Maud on her boat Tahia – with which she had sailed around the world – and together with about 50 boats from people supporting the action they took the 300 kids out to sea. NewCastWire, BFMTV.com and TF1 reported about it. And here’s an article from SudOuest.

After the screening of the movie the ‘De rouille et d’os‘ cast & crew headed to the Dior & ELLE Magazine party held this year in the movie’s honor. Marion Cotillard met up with Berenice Bejo, Michel Hazanavicius, Alec Baldwin and what looks like the friend of Edith Piaf, Ginou Richer, and showed people pictures on her phone – probably of her son Marcel who’s just turned 1 this weekend.
I finally also added the pictures and sreencaptures from the official world premiere for ‘De rouille et d’os‘ (Rust & Bone) which took place later in the day last Thursday during the Cannes Film Festival. Marion Cotillard looked flawless in a Dior haute couture ballgown consisting of a bustier top in black wool crepe and a navy tulle skirt. She had her hair swept back in a massive bun decorated with Chopard jewellery. She also wore a white gold Chopard diamond watch and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.
Of course Marion Cotillard also attended the press conference for ‘De rouille et d’os‘ (Rust & Bone) ahead of its premiere last Thursday. Also present were co-star Matthias Schoenaerts, director Jacques Audiard and co-writer Thomas Bidegain. Director Jacques Audiard together with Marion Cotillard & Matthias Schoenaerts were interviewed on Thursday on the official Festival TV channel about ‘De rouille et d’os‘ (Rust & Bone). Contrary to recent interviews posted on this site this one has was simultaneously translated into English so also non-French speakers understand what they’re saying.
On Thursday, Le Grand Journal aired a sequence of Marion Cotillard & Matthias Schoenaerts goofing around in the Studio Photo after their appearance on the programme the day before. It’s hilarious!
As previously announced, Marion Cotillard & Matthias Schoenaerts were interviewed on Le Grand Journal in Cannes right after the opening ceremony. Tomorrow will be a big day for them as it’s the day of the premiere!
