I’ve been supporting this woman for 14 years now. I was really touched when I discovered her life and what she had to go through. She’s a wonder to me, her purity, she’s someone who’s not afraid. She’s accepted to not being able to see her husband, her children, for the sake of her people. That’s something extraordinary! Information we have about her, her health condition, her…, are frightening. And if these military people, who are deaf and blind, people who are beyond sense and law… if there’s a moment to help reverse this, I believe in it. I believe that bringing as many people as possible in this country up to date on who this woman is and what is going on in that country is not in vain. It’s a start to get her out of prison.

As previously announced Marion Cotillard attended a screening of ‘Public Enemies‘ in Lyon on July 3, 2009. Bakasphere.com kindly gave me permission to post his pictures from the event. [edit:] Actually, these (and 2 new) pictures were taken at the Hôtel de Ville, where Marion participated in the radio show ‘La tête dans les étoiles‘ for RTL just before the actual screening.[/edit]. Note that some guy went up to the stage to ask for an autograph. Marion graciously signed for him but the interviewer made clear that this was to be an exception and that everyone else please remain seated. LOL

After the international promotional tour for ‘Public Enemies‘ but before somewhat disappearing from the limelight to prepare for her upcoming role in Guillaume Canet’s Les Petits Mouchoirs and to take a much deserved vacation (in St. Tropez) Marion Cotillard as the face of Lady Dior attended the Dior Haute Couture Autumn/Winter show during the Paris Fashion Week on July 6. She was pictured with President and Chief Executive Officer of Christian Dior Couture Sidney Toledano, John Galliano, Clotilde Courau and Nora Arnazeder.

On a hot summer day earlier this month (July 2) Marion Cotillard attended the ‘Public Enemies’ Press Conference in the Hotel George-V in Paris. Later she joined Johnny Depp and Michael Mann on the red carpet for the big premiere. She signed many pictures, wore impressive Galliano red sequin shoes and was accompanied by her mother Niseema Theillaud.

On the opening night of the Paris Film Festival, June 30, Marion Cotillard attended the “La Fete du Cinema” – Cocktail Lunch at the Ministere de la Culture in Paris.

The European ‘Public Enemies‘ Premiere took place earlier today in London. Stephen Graham joined Johnny Depp, Marion Cotillard and Michael Mann. Marion looked lovely in a red Vivienne Westwood dress – which unfortunately seems to have ripped after signing autographs and walking the red carpet.

Following the special screening of ‘Public Enemies‘ in Chicago on Thursday, Marion Cotillard joined Johnny Depp and Christian Bale for a press conference in the Peninsula Hotel, also in Chicago, on Friday, June 19.

Finally, the pictures of Marion at Thursday’s ‘Public Enemies‘ premiere & after party in Chicago. Her ’50s-inspired Christian Dior dress with silver Sergio Rossi slingbacks and a red leather belt and bag were named Look of the Day by InStyle.com.

Cotillard spoke of Chicagoans’ enthusiasm for their city and mentioned that she lived near O’Brien’s during the shoot.

Depp and co-star Marion Cotillard briefly greeted the crowd, and seemed to have a pretty good rapport as they kibbitzed with each other before the screening.

The actors all raved about the city of Chicago and the people here. Cotillard said she was a fan of Gibson’s steakhouse.
