Also on Thursday Marion Cotillard attended the Chopard Trophy evening. Earlier in the evening Shailene Woodley and Ezra Miller had been handed awards for Best Young Actor and Actress of the Year during the Trophée Ceremony. Marion Cotillard changed into a Basil Soda Fall 2012 dress and was of course wearing Chopard jewels. She was also spotted at Le Club by Albane the same day.
After the screening of the movie the ‘De rouille et d’os‘ cast & crew headed to the Dior & ELLE Magazine party held this year in the movie’s honor. Marion Cotillard met up with Berenice Bejo, Michel Hazanavicius, Alec Baldwin and what looks like the friend of Edith Piaf, Ginou Richer, and showed people pictures on her phone – probably of her son Marcel who’s just turned 1 this weekend.
I finally also added the pictures and sreencaptures from the official world premiere for ‘De rouille et d’os‘ (Rust & Bone) which took place later in the day last Thursday during the Cannes Film Festival. Marion Cotillard looked flawless in a Dior haute couture ballgown consisting of a bustier top in black wool crepe and a navy tulle skirt. She had her hair swept back in a massive bun decorated with Chopard jewellery. She also wore a white gold Chopard diamond watch and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.
I also added tons of pictures and screencaptures from the photocall for ‘De rouille et d’os‘ (Rust & Bone) on Thursday. Marion Cotillard looked like a dream, with long wavy hair, natural make-up wearing a Dior dress and Versus shoes. Watch the video from the photocall on the official Festival site.
Of course Marion Cotillard also attended the press conference for ‘De rouille et d’os‘ (Rust & Bone) ahead of its premiere last Thursday. Also present were co-star Matthias Schoenaerts, director Jacques Audiard and co-writer Thomas Bidegain. Filming for ‘Low Life‘ (Untitled James Gray Project) wrapped earlier this month and a wrap party was held at The Electric Room on March 18. NY Post Page Six reports:
Marion Cotillard handed out gifts to fellow cast and crew at a wrap party Sunday night for the untitled, 1920s James Gray-directed project she filmed with Joaquin Phoenix and Jeremy Renner. Cotillard, who came with partner Guillaume Canet, fashioned giant clothespins for each cast and crew member with his or her name and unique decorations, and passed them out all night during the party at Nur Khan’s Electric Room in the Dream Downtown.
The movie is currently in post-production for 15 weeks and director James Gray hopes to have it ready for the Toronto International Film Festival when he spoke to The Playlist:
I think it’s going to be my best work. What I shot was not just my best work, but the actors doing their best and I’m very excited about it for that reason. I’m extremely excited, like I said it’s the best thing I’ve done.
The French theatrical release date for ‘Un goût de rouille et d’os ‘ (Rust & Bone) has been pushed forward from October to May 17, 2012 – the day after the Cannes Film Festival opens. This is most likely confirmation of the rumours that the movie will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
Earlier this month new casting for Guillaume Canet’s upcoming movie ‘Blood Ties‘ was announced via The Hollywood Reporter. Mark Wahlberg is no longer attached to the project but Clive Owen came on board the adaptation of the French novel Les liens du sang. Additionally to Zoe Saldana and Marion Cotillard her ‘Big Fish‘ co-star Billy Crudup and fellow Dior muse Mila Kunis were cast. And Marion’s ‘Rust & Bone‘ co-star Matthias Schoenaerts has an offer for a role while ‘Low Life‘ director James Gray helped Guillaume Canet write the screenplay.
The story centers on a younger brother (Crudup) who has to ask his convict older brother (Owen) to go back into the underworld to help out the family. Kunis and Cotillard play love interests. If the finanacing comes together, the movie will head for an April start in New York.

The latter can’t be viewed from outside the US so many thanks to Iria from Damian Lewis Web for sending it in for our video archive. It’s especially interesting because she says her character in ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ is not based on the comic books – which means that the speculation that her character Miranda Tate might be an alias for her real character Talia al Ghul might prove to be just that, specualation only. ‘Little White Lies‘ is out in theatres in Australia! It will be out in Germany on July 7 (extensive official site) and it will be released on DVD and Bluray in the UK on August 22 (source). So I think all this is a good opportunity to catch up on some movie promotion Marion Cotillard did last year.
