Speaking of which… Celebrity Hair stylist Ted Gibson blogged about a photo shoot he worked on with Marion Cotillard. Might this be for the new Lady Dior Ads? Who knows…

I was in Morocco for 3 days working with Marion on a fashion shoot that was beyond my imagination. I have never experienced any place like Ouarzazat before It was desert, palm trees, lush vegetation and beautiful weather!!!!!

Marion came to the shoot in a beautiful long sweater, jeans and hair in a bun. Such a movie star!!

We created a very soft, sexy flowing hairstyle with tons of bounce. I used Hairsheet Styling and Build It Blow-Drying Spray to give volume and control because we were shooting outside. I’ll follow up with a picture when the story is published.

I’m sure you’re all as impatient as me to see the second batch of promotion for Lady Dior (there will be four).

In May, the house will shoot a second batch of ads for the Lady Dior handbag featuring Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard, depicted in the first episode clutching the lace-like metallic grid of the Eiffel Tower, the purse slung on her arm etched with a similar pattern. (Also coming out soon on Dior’s website is a mini-movie with Cotillard devoted to the making of the campaign.)

“Dior is not an apparel vendor; it’s not a bag vendor or a shoe vendor. This is why it’s so close to the movie industry,” Toledano said. “These actresses are showing the dream through Dior…this dimension of dream, glamour, and elegance.”

Having famous women wearing Dior, from royals and political figures to celebrities, is not meant to achieve a short-term impact, but to feed the brand’s momentum and “add more substance to the story of the brand. It’s a long-term process.”

So I guess we’ll only have to wait roughly two more months until we’re treated to new ads and a new making of video!

I’ve made screencaptures of the Making Of & Marion Cotillard interview to be found on LadyDior.com. There are some exceptionally breathtaking shots of Marion to be admired in the videos. The interview can be watched with English subtitles as well.

p.s. The Making Of actually should also help silence the rumour that Marion wasn’t actually on the Eiffel Tower when photographed for the campaign. She clearly was.

The official website for the Lady Dior bag – of which Marion Cotillard is the new face – went online earlier this month! Be sure to check it out as it looks absolutely gorgeous and has a few goodies. I’ve added some screenshots as well as the preview of the second ad with Marion on the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the gallery.

The ad is currently appearing in numerous issues of fashion magazines – including French & German Elle & Vogue. I think the ad with Marion’s face close up can actually be seen in the January issue of UK Vogue. If anyone could donate a HQ scan of this (second) print ad? Thanks!
