Today I finished what I set out to do over a year ago! I transferred all video clips from the old to the new video archive – bringing the total count in the new archive to 250. There’s nothing really new except 2 videos: Cinema.nl – Interview and CBS News – 2007/06/17.

To simplify the url to the gallery now that the old video archive has become redundant I moved the whole gallery installation to the root of marion-media.org. All links to the gallery here on the main site have been successfully updated! Except those in the old section of the site which are still pointing to the very first gallery installation. In due time, they too, should get updated.

The French trailer for ‘Les Petits Mouchoirs‘ debuted today exclusively on MSN.fr. However, the same footage was already shown on Sunday during the Rencontres de cinéma avec Guillaume Canet on Canal+. During that interview also more scenes from the movie were shown for the first time! And recently a second Making Of video was released. The movie will be released in France on October 20.

Very big news for the movie came also in today! The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) announced their lineup of Galas and Special Presentations! So, ‘Little White Lies‘ (the movie’s English title) will celebrate its world premiere with a gala screening at the Canadian Film Festival!

Tuesday night Marion Cotillard was a guest on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson – for the 2nd time this year and overall her 4th visit. As usual the banter between the two was hilarious and I don’t think Marion’s ever been this relaxed on TV! And we get a new glimpse of a scene with Marion in ‘Inception‘. Enjoy!

I’m back from my travels for a few days so I’ll be doing my best to catch up on what’s going on in Marion Cotillard’s world. To begin, some additional HQ pictures of her during the Los Angeles ‘Inception‘ Press Conference in Los Angeles last month. Due to filming ‘Midnight in Paris‘ Marion didn’t attend the London Press Conference (although she did make it to the world premiere Thursday evening – more on that later). However, she was present during the Press Conference in Paris on Friday ahead of its premiere there on Saturday. You can watch the entire conference with English/French audio on FilmoSphere France’s YouTube Channel. Already now, we can read part of the article and adore the pictures of the fabulous editorial shot by Mario Testino in the Provence, France, and watch a behind the scenes video on the Vogue.com Website. Continuing with catching up on Marion’s activities in Cannes some pictures and a video from Tuesday when she was on Le Grand Journal. As you can see on the pictures of her arriving at the ‘studio’ and in the video she was accompagnied by Edith Piaf’s best friend Ginou. As last, year she also signed a bottle of limited-edition gold leaf Moët Methusalem – which will later be auctioned off in support of FilmAid International, the humanitarian aid organization that uses film and video to entertain and to educate communities in crisis around the world.

I updated the gallery with more pictures from the Chopard Anniversary party as well as of Marion out & about earlier the same day. Le Petit Journal (for Canal+) and Glanz & Gloria (for SF – Swiss TV) spotted and interviewed her on Monday and aired some footage of that on Tuesday evening. Additionally, Le Parisien stood next to SF during their interview and posted a different part of the interview (without the German voice-over) on their website.

Earlier today, Marion Cotillard was interviewed on Le Grand Journal. Exactly one year after her interview on the show during last year’s Cannes Festival and also exactly 3 months after her last appearance on the talk show. She looked absolutely adorable in her red dress. And I love her hair.

I don’t have time for a proper translation but here’s a – hopefully accurate – summary. She talked a bit about her character Marie in ‘Les Petits Mouchoirs‘ who’s generally full of rage apparently. She enjoyed filming a contemporary movie wearing jeans and swearing. Guillaume Canet is a great director and she enjoyed working together and had many beautiful moments with the whole cast who mostly are old friends of theirs. She evaded the question if Guillaume was being difficult at home during filming – à la Guido Contini in Nine – but said that the two things can be balanced.

She was equally evasive about her character in ‘Inception‘ but said that it is not “Cat Woman” – the character is very complex and enigmatic. She has many different sides to her. She shares with Christopher Nolan the love of seeing a movie without knowing anything about it in advance.

Coming to Cannes doesn’t feel like an obligation. There are things she’s obliged to do – like talk about ‘Les Petits Mouchoirs‘ – but they’re agreeable to do. And she didn’t sing Karaoke last night at the concert – contrary to what the people on the show thought. But apparently, Guillaume sang – during a time when Marion wasn’t there.

She confirms ‘Midnight in Paris‘ – she doesn’t share a scene with Carla Bruni – and ‘Contagion‘. She also grabs the opportunity to gush about Kate Winslet. However, she was very reluctant about ‘Cosmopolis‘ since she’s still in talks. (This makes sense as Variety reported she was “attached” to the movie – this means she hasn’t signed anything and having her name attached to the project will hopefully help get the project made.) Moreover, she hasn’t heard anything about ‘The Rivals‘ in a long time – its development has definitely been put on ice. Sadly, they didn’t ask her about ‘Second Coming‘.
