I’m very sorry for the delay but I finally have an update about Les enfants de la télé for you. Marion Cotillard & Guillaume Canet together with the majority of the ‘Les petits mouchoirs‘ cast appeared on the French TV show where they show old, rare and funny clips of the guests on September 25, 2010. A HUGE thank you to Melfan for her tremendous help with this – without her this post wouldn’t have been possible!

They showed the following Marion-related clips: 2008 Award montage, 16 year old Marion in a campaign against drinking (Tu t’es vu quand t’as bu), 7 and 8 year old Marion in TV movies by Claude Cailloux (La monde des tout petits & Lucie), Dance routine ‘Take it All’ in Nine, Forehead Tittaes and 18 year old Marion in TV series Extrême Limite.

Today, Saturday, Aung San Suu Kyi was released after more than seven years of house arrest. She’s Myanmar’s democracy leader, received the 1991 Peace Nobel Prize and has been Honour Citizen of Paris city since 2004. At Paris town hall in front of a portrait of Aung San Suu Kyi people gathered for a solidarity event. Among them Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoe, Marion Cotillard and British singer Jane Birkin. The inscription on the portrait banner read “Aung San Suu Kyi, Free Honour Citizen of Paris City”. Watch news videos with some footage of Marion by TF1 and MI6. Since 2003 UNICEF France has been organizing Frimousses de Créateurs where famous designers create dolls which are then sold to help vaccinate thousands of children in Darfur. This year’s edition is called Les Frimousses font leur cinéma! – meaning its theme is cinema.

Early October Voila.fr reported that Guillaume Canet, Marion Cotillard, Isabelle Adjani and Yamina Benguigui would take part. The dolls have now been unveiled – Marion Cotillard designed her doll herself, Guillaume’s doll was created in collaboration with Dior Homme. See them all on PurePeople.

The dolls will be put in an exhibition at the Petit Palais in Paris from November 29 to December 5 and will then be sold by Drouot Montaigne on December 7, 2010. Selected dolls will also be sold by First Luxe from November 29 to December 12, 2010. Source: Unicef France.

As posted earlier, Marion Cotillard travelled to the Democratic Republic of Congo in the first week of June and Greenpeace realized a 7-episode documentary of her travels through the rainforests. Travelling by pirogue (a small wooden boat), she witnessed the destruction caused by logging first hand. Many of the episodes are now available with subtitles:

At the beginning of June 2010 Marion Cotillard travelled together with Greenpeace to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Congo: Forests on probation is an impressive 7-part video diary of Marion’s stay there and documents the plundering of the Congolese forests. I am leaving on a short holiday so I don’t have the time to upload pictures but I encourage you to watch these videos.

I will catch up on all the ‘Inception‘ promotion and other Marion news once I’m back next week. And here’s a TV alert: She will be the guest on the Late Late Night Show with Craig Ferguson on the day of ‘Inception‘s LA premiere: July 13.

Marion Cotillard attended the Maud Fontenoy Fondation Gala this past Tuesday, June 8 – on World Ocean Day – at the Hotel de la Marine in Paris, France. The foundation by French sailor and UNESCO Ambassador for the Oceans Maud Fontenoy is determined to fight to save the oceans and protect the coastlines. Read more about their work here.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day today Vanity Fair asked environmentally conscious individuals, among them Marion, to make a wish for a greener world. Here’s the video:

This is Marion Cotillard. My wish for the 40th anniversary of Earth Day is awareness, good sense and love. Because it’s the only energy that can change things.

Before I leave for my vacation I uploaded a HQ version of Marion’s portrait for the Tck Tck Tck Time for Climate Change Campaign. We previously only had a very small version of it.

While I’m gone my dear friend Mariana will look after the site seeing as Marion is so busy right now.

Marion Cotillard together with other French actors has participated in a spot asking people to sign the petition L’ultimatum climatique. The petition mainly addresses the French president, that he should take a stand for the environment during the upcoming conference in Copenhagen in December. But it also asks the French citizens to support any measures to save our planet and to show their readiness to do so by signing the petition.
