Following her Oscar win she starred in Public Enemies, Nine, Inception and the French Little White Lies. In 2011 she became a mother and was seen in Midnight in Paris and Contagion on the big screen while she filmed scenes for The Dark Knight Rises and for Jacques Audiard's Rust & Bone. In 2012 she will play a Polish immigrant in the period drama Low Life. Not stopping at movies, Marion Cotillard is also exploring her musical talents as a member of the French rock band Yodelice. Last Saturday, Marion Cotillard was the guest & co-editor of Marie Drucker’s radio show Le Journal Inattendu and on Sunday she was interviewed about ‘De Rouille et d’os‘ (Rust & Bone) together with Matthias Schoenaerts during the evening news on French TV channel France 2. They showed the adorable clip of 6 year old Marion in ‘La monde des tout petits‘ which already ‘Les enfants de la télé’ showed to Marion back in September 2010. And Will Smith, who was a guest on the news show the day before, had a message for Marion, suggesting they should do a movie together (she replied that she’d love to make a comedy with him).

Ahead of some very exciting new pictures one more “catching-up-post”. Around the release of the music video for Lady Dior Marion Cotillard was featured in the April issue of Vogue Paris. The interview is mostly about music and how it has always helped her to get in character while filming. Interestingly, Marion used Debbie Harry of Blondie as inspiration and model to be able to portray a rock singer in the recent music video.
Her favourite music artists are among others MGMT, Yodelice, Izia, Radiohead, Otis Redding, U2, Bowie, Franz Ferdinand, Regina Spektor, Hawksley Workman, Pixies.
Kindly do not redistribute the magazine scans at another Marion Cotillard fan site as they were scanned exclusively for ‘Magnifique Marion Cotillard’. Thank you.
I also added the 2 songs from Marion’s movies Edy (2005) and Une affaire privée (2002) to the Songs Page.
This reminded me of Marion’s iTunes Celebrity Playlist I never updated about. Unfortunately, I can’t post a direct link as I have no access to the US Store of iTunes. But here’s the information:
You may have noticed in the last post that the audio clips section – which used to be in the old video archive – are back! I continued working on it today and now everything I had on the computer is up on the site! So if you come across more audio interviews with Marion – especially in English – please let me know!
Remember back in February when we linked to an article about Hawksley Workman that mentioned him having “spent some time in Los Angeles working and writing songs with Golden Globe winning actress Marion Cotillard”? Well, these new songs for Cartier LOVE (Hawksley also recorded an original song) could really be the result. I found this on HawksleyWorkman.com:
While you’re there, make sure you also check out Oscar winner Marion Cotillard’s Hawksley-produced effort “The Strong Ones”.
Also, could it be that it’s him who’s providing the background vocals on Marion’s track?
To find out what exactly those LOVE bracelets are that all of these songs are advertising check out this article at Paste Magazine. And if you have trouble downloading the song from the Cartier website go here.
