SynopsisThe Japanese Minister of Defence is in town to test French know-how when it comes to anti-terrorism. He'll also sign "the contract of the century" with the French government. But then he's kidnapped by a Yakusa gang. Despite their better judgement, Daniel and Emilien find themselves involved in saving the distinguished guest, who has a meeting that he just can't miss…
Marion Cotillard's roleObviously, Marion Cotillard reprises her role as Daniel's girlfriend Lilly. In this film we see how he meets her parents, her father especially. Daniel who despises everything to do with police and military becomes somewhat of not a friend, then certainly an accomplice of General Edmond Bertineau, Lilly's dad. Once again, Lilly is left home alone, waiting for Daniel to come home and anxiously calling him every other scene.

Personal CommentsI'm not much of a fan of sequels. If the filmmakers do about the same thing again they're accused of a lack of ideas, if they top it of overdoing it. In this case, Taxi 2 turns out to be a passable sequel, certainly topping the action but also the introduction of General Bertineau made for an interesting story element. Marion's role certainly is limited, but she does look gorgeous!
