Synopsis
“Mary” is inspired by Jesus’s disciple, the mythical Mary Magdalene. The tale evokes three characters bound together by her spirit and mystery: Mary Paleci, actress, who plays the role of Magdalene in a film and is haunted by the character; Tony Childress, film director, who plays Jesus Christ in his own film; Ted Younger, famous journalist, who hosts a television program focused on faith. Fascinated or on a spiritual quest, fate will bring them together…Marion Cotillard's role
She plays Gretchen Mol - with whom Ted Younger is having an affair. I do not quite understand who her character is supposed to be or why she's named after an actress.

Personal Comments
I really tried to like this film - but to me it all seemed like a terribly overlong course of religious philosophy.by Maria
