Synopsis
Some men have everything, while other men have even more. Léo is one of the latter. A member of the jet set, he can be seen at the trendiest parties cruising beautiful women, living life to the hilt while others barely have time to even dream it. Narrowly escaping death in an accident, Léo suddenly discovers the true value of life. He’s never known the meaning of true love and now he’ll start to understand what really counts. The accident doesn’t mean the end, it marks the beginning of an attempt to conquer again all he possessed without realizing it. “Cavalcade” is a true story adapted from an autobiographical novel by Bruno de Stabenrath.
Marion Cotillard's role
She plays Alizée - the girlfriend Léo has at the beginning of the film. However, he's too busy partying to notice she's depressed. She leaves him and goes off to find a new life. Although she only has a small part she leaves a big impression and makes you want to hit Léo in order to realize what he's missing. She may come off as selfish for not returning back to him when he realizes how much he loves her and yet we're happy for her that she's found her place in life.

Trivia & Facts
• Filming Locations:
Bruno de Stabenrath wanted to tell his story not to make a pathos documentary or some kind of therapy. He wanted to tell what he learned, what this trial revealed to him. He insists it is not a film about illness, or suffering, but of a man who re-creates himself emotionally and as a human being after life stole that from him.
Director Steve Suissa sent the script to Marion Cotillard while she was shooting 'Big Fish' in New York. After not hearing back from her he thought she wasn't interested. However, 10 days prior to shooting she called to ask when she could start.

Personal Comments
Despite it comes off as a bit too melodramatic and too obviously preachy I enjoyed the film. There are many little moments that beautifully capture human nature and I really felt with Léo and his struggle and wanted him to succeed. To have his family and friends in a number of scenes and to see how they reacted to the new situation was a great addition. And I absolutely adore the soundtrack. by Maria
