Awards season is now upon us, and so the campaigning begins! The first ‘For Your Consideration’ advert for Rust & Bone has recently been shared on AwardsDaily.com, and you can now also view it in our Gallery. Marion is of course being campaigned for Best Actress for her role as Stéphanie in Rust & Bone, and numerous award sites are predicting nominations for Ms Cotillard. Let’s cross our fingers….!

Marion Cotillard graces the cover of the December issue of UK’s Harper’s Bazaar after she received the International Actor of the Year award from them during the Women of the Year 2012 Awards last night. Check out a preview & a behind the scenes video.
When Marion Cotillard arrived on Bazaar’s cover shoot in LA, it was clear she was approaching the project with as much professionalism as she would if arriving on a Hollywood film set.
The concept of the day? High glamour, couture, rich colour, diamonds, luxurious fabrics, and a powerful, graceful elegance befitting Bazaar’s Women of the Year December issue; the edition in which we celebrate those women (and men) who have touched our lives and made an impact on our world in 2012.
With slicked back hair and smoky eyes, Cotillard models bespoke gowns from Giambattista Valli to Dior. It took the French star just minutes after greeting the team on the day – photographer Ben Hassett, stylist Julia von Boehm and make-up artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua – to slip naturally into the role of fashion muse.
But, while the Academy Award winner undoubtedly has had plenty of experience to draw from for the part – Cotillard is ambassador to the fashion house Dior and was the first to wear Raf Simons’ debut couture collection on the red carpet – she is just as at home in ‘the unpretentious cream sloppy sweater (she doesn’t know or care who by) and brown fedora’ she meets us in when interviewed the day after the shoot in LA’s Chateau Marmot.
With Bazaar writer Lorien Haynes, Cotillard discusses the emotional intensity asked of her to play her latest part in the critically acclaimed Rust and Bone (and Oscar rumours are already swirling), and the challenges of balancing a career as an A-list actor with her latest role as mother to 18-month-old Marcel and her relationship with actor and director Guillame Canet, Marcel’s father, which brings Cotillard to tears.

I will catch up on all the London Film Festival events as soon as I get some free time. In the meantime, good news:
The third episode of the new Lady Dior Documentary is online! It shows Marion Cotillard being photographed for the new Dior magazine. She’s wearing vintage Dior so it’s the perfect opportunity to merge the fashion house’s history with Marion’s. There’s also footage from 2 other Dior photoshoots: one on a ferry in New York (used in 7000 and L’Express Styles) and another one indoors (used in Paris Match and Madame Figaro). There’s also napping Marion and her going to events.
It’s time for an exclusive photo shoot for Dior, and Marion Cotillard slips into some of the finest haute couture creations by Christian Dior himself.
Le Monde featured an article about James Gray’s upcoming movie starring Marion Cotillard and Joaquin Phoenix in their magazine M this past weekend. I added digital scans (sorry for the somewhat poor quality). It featured new stills from the movie. It looks so exciting and I can’t wait to see the it. Apparently, the audience at a masterclass during the Zurich Film Festival last month – held by the movie’s producer Greg Shapiro – were also treated to some footage from the movie (Screendaily.com). However, it will probably be released next spring (Bluewin), so we have to be patient.
I added scans from this year’s features in both the UK & France edition of Marie Claire. The article is identical.
Also I found this article about Marion Cotillard & her little world featuring pictures from her childhood & her apartment at the time published during promotion for ‘Ma vie en l’air‘ in the 2005 September issue of France’s Marie Claire. We already had bits from the interview in the press archive, but now you can read the full version. Enjoy!
Note: please credit the source if you repost the articles as I spent a long time typing them all up by hand, thank you.
Kindly do not redistribute the magazine scans at another Marion Cotillard fan site as they were scanned exclusively for ‘Magnifique Marion Cotillard’. Thank you.
The second episode of the new Lady Dior Documentary is online! Apart from continuing to show the process of creating Marion’s dream robe and some history of the house Dior we see Marion jumping around & dancing at a photoshoot. I wonder when we’ll see the pictures taken that day. And at the end we even hear her sing.
From the workshops at 30, avenue Montaigne to the markets of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, Marion Cotillard invites us into her fairytale life and continues to write the story of a passion-filled union between fashion and cinema.
Visit LadyDior.com to see 3 bonus videos showing work being done close-up & another Dior history clip.

After the teaser it’s finally here – the half-hour long interview with Marion Cotillard and Matthias Schoenaerts by David Poland, recorded during the Toronto Film Festival earlier this month. It’s a really good watch:

International Feature Agency have what reads like a full transcript of an official Q&A or press conference. Bits of it have already been used in other articles but it’s definitely an interesting read.
And someone uploaded videos of the full Q&A that took place after the second screening of the movie (view the rest below the cut):
There were many more articles/interviews posted from Toronto International Film Festival (and one belatedly from Telluride Film Festival) over the past few days. Videos are also slowly emerging. Apart from the ones added today there’s a sneak peak of what looks like a great & funny video with Marion Cotillard & Matthias Schoenaerts. Can’t wait for the full version!
