EmmaWatson.net named Magnifique Marion Cotillard Site of the Month for February 08. Wow! Many thanks. Be sure to head over for everything about the popular young actress.
We’ve selected Magnifique Marion Cotillard as our Site of the Month for February. This is a great site for the French actress who recently won a Golden Globes award and is nominated in the Oscars for her work in La Vie En Rose.
Just wanted to bring to everybody’s attention that I’ve been updating the English Press Archive with a few more interviews and relevant articles about Marion Cotillard.
when asked about ‘Public Enemies’: What I can tell you [is that] what I have to do in that movie makes ‘La Vie en Rose’ seem like a piece of cake. (full article)
Welcome to 2008! We would like to spend the first day of the new year looking back on 2007. What a year for Marion Cotillard! Promotion for La Vie en Rose in France started in January, the film had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in February and then continued to be released in one country after another. Marion Cotillard accompanied the promotion team around the globe. Final stop was Japan – she only skipped the South America tour. Afterwards she started to support Picturehouse‘s awards campaign. We’ve been treated to some amazing news & picture coverage meanwhile and let’s all hope when the Oscar nominations will be announced next month Marion’s name will be among them!

Maria: Simply a perfect cover!
For some time I’ve been very unhappy with the script I had been using for the site’s video archive. I’ve now installed the ever-so-fantastic Coppermine and with help from Ally it should integrate well into the overall site layout. Many thanks!
I’ve been working hard to bring you all the previously available videos plus more. I’m still not done adding all the stuff I have but please bare with me. Many thanks to Paolo for some contributions!
Most noteworthy are probably the additions in the following folders:
Ma vie en l’air (Love is in the Air) – 2005 – English Trailer
Les Jolies choses (Pretty Things) – 2001 – Film clips + full Lucie. F. clip
Talk Shows – 2005 – Vivement Dimanche with Monica Bellucci
TV Shows – Hommage a Piaf, February 10, 2007
Interviews – interviews of Marion Cotillard promoting A Good Year and La Vie en Rose
Public Appearances – 2007 – various clips, incl. the (dubbed) acceptance speech at the Hollywood Awards
Other – various clips, incl. a fantastic interview called Screentest by the New York Times T Magazine – I came across it when watching a previous edition featuring Natalie Portman
Hi all, my name is Sara Amelia and I’m the new co-web at Magnifique Marion Cotillard. Maria has been kind enough to offer me a position here on the site. I’ve loved Marion for a while now and truely love cannot wait to contribute to the site.
You may know my work from Introducing Mélanie Laurent, a co-star of Marion in Dikkenek. I also own others, which you can find listed here.
Magnifique Marion Cotillard has been hosting a forum ever since it’s re-opening. I was told and generally had the feeling myself it would be something Marion fans would appreciate. However, nobody beside me has posted anything yet. It now has a much better look thanks to Angelic and I sure hope you will head over and start posting! It’d be great to have discussions with fellow admirers of Marion Cotillard.
Want to meet Marion Cotillard? If you live in LA you might just be as lucky. Back Stage and The Hollywood Reporter are helding a La Vie en Rose screening on October 21, 8 p.m., at Harmony Gold Theatre, 7655 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles. The event will include a screening, followed by a Q&A with Cotillard. Sarah Kuhn, Back Stage West’s film and TV writer, will moderate. Find out more.
Unfortunately, the US release for Pretty Things (Les Jolies Choses) has been further delayed. The DVD is now scheduled to hit the stores November 6. This means US Marion fans know what to spend their money on next month. La Vie en Rose and Innocence will both be released on Region 1 DVD November 13.
As for site updates, please be sure to pay our new family site a visit: Introducing Melanie Laurent. It is an amazing resource for the very talented French actress and Marion costar (Dikkenek).
Many thanks go to Caladonia and Karen for informing me about this great Marion Cotillard news – while I’m actually preparing to go on a short trip. Variety – and others – are reporting the following:
Marion Cotillard will receive the breakthrough performance award for her work as chanteuse Edith Piaf in “La Vie en rose” at the 19th Palm Springs Film Festival. Thesp will be presented with the nod at in a gala ceremony at the Palm Springs Convention Center on Jan. 5.
“Marion Cotillard delivers a tour de force performance as legendary singer Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose, which is sure to be recognized throughout this year’s awards season,” Festival chairman Earl Greenburg said in a statement. “This is truly one of the year’s breakthrough performances, and we’re delighted to recognize her for this outstanding role.”
Also the always helpful and lovely Mariana has made marion-cotillard.org her Spotlight at her Sarah Polley website. Many THANKS! Be sure to head over and visit this great source on the Canadian actress/director.
I’ve finally taken the time to figure out how to customize the look of the Video Vault. It should now look like a part of this site and I hope you don’t encounter any problems. I’ve also added a few new clips with Marion Cotillard – expect many more over the coming weeks!
