‘Hedwig’ Director for Lady Grey
It’s been one of the last questions before the actual release of the new Dior short movie. Who’s directing it? It’s John Cameron Mitchell – currently getting rave reviews for ‘Rabbit Hole‘ with Nicole Kidman, but more importantly he’s behind ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch‘:
He has also directed a video campaign for fashion house Dior, after being sought out by Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, a fan of Hedwig. Sir Ian McKellen also stars as a wheel-bound suitor to Cotillard, whom Mitchell compares to “a cross between a burlesque dancer, Mary Poppins, and Jesus.”

Watch Marion talk about her love of Hedwig and the Angry Inch in this ‘Nine‘ promotional interview by Broadway.tv. Interesting bit of trivia: Marion Cotillard expressed interest in actually starring in Hedwig back in 2007 (source).
Mon Taratata à moi choosing David Bowie
On Friday evening a new episode of Mon Taratata à moi aired on France 2. That’s the version of the show where artists choose a performance by someone else from the Taratata archives for their personal Taratata show – while sitting in a photo booth. This time Marion Cotillard chose David Bowie because he’s a real genius and there’s really no need to say more about him.
