Marion Cotillard and director James Gray will be guests on Charlie Rose tomorrow to talk about ‘The Immigrant‘. The show airs Fridays 8.30pm ET on PBS. Watch a preview clip on their website.
‘The Immigrant‘ being released in the US tomorrow and ‘Deux jours, une nuit‘ premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in competition next Tuesday makes for a very interesting situation. We’re getting French and English media coverage for two of Marion’s movies starring her in the lead role. Not that I’m complaining.
The May issue of Studio Ciné Live comes with two covers, one featuring Marion Cotillard, the other Angelina Jolie. The Cannes issues of this week’s L’Express Styles and Télérama both feature Marion on the cover as well. All three magazines include brand-new photo shoots. Sofia added scans of all three yesterday.
Also, Marion Cotillard will be on the cover of Version Fémina’s Cannes issue (which comes out with Journal du Dimanche next Sunday).
Then there’s an article inside this month’s Premiere, thank you very much Elise for providing scans. This week, Marion was also on the cover of Variety in the US. If you’re able to provide scans (digital or real) we’d appreciate that very much. In the meantime I’ve added the outtakes and the cover. There was also an article in LA Times.
In addition to many online English interviews the French interviews and pictures from last week’s magazines have started to appear online so I added them. If you don’t speak French you can now copy the text into an online translator.

Studio Canal showed first footage of ‘Macbeth‘ during Cannes market earlier this week. To promote the movie they had 2 character posters up – displaying a muddy but fierce Michael Fassbender and a serene but also fierce Marion Cotillard. Somebody took a picture from an angle and the photoshopped posters have been posted all over the internet, e.g. on The Playlist.

In an exclusive interview with The Huffington Post UK the Metronomy’s founder Joe Mount revealed that he’s been spending some time in the studio during the band’s recent European tour – with Marion Cotillard:
“I’ve been doing lots of things, I swore to myself last time that I wouldn’t ever take my foot off the gas and it’s nice really. I’ve been working with other people and doing my own stuff. I was actually just doing some recording with Marion Cotillard, it’s going very good. ”
Joe is also keen to emphasise that he considers himself a producer now, though he does still plan to release at least two more Metronomy albums.
“I’m sure I’ve got as many albums left in me as anyone wants to release, but I’ve definitely got two really good ones,” he laughed, adding: “There will be more I’m sure, but maybe the quality will dip!”
Hopefully, we’ll be able to hear the result of this collaboration some time soon!
