It was announced today that  ’Contagion‘ will have its world premiere at Venice Film Festival in August/September, ahead of its opening in North America on September 9.

Thank you Nadine for keeping the site updated while I was away. The first trailer for ‘Contagion‘ has finally been released! The official movie website is live too and I added some posters to the gallery together with HQ screencaptures of Marion Cotillard as Leonora Orantes.

“Contagion” follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.

WWD has the first look of the new campaign for the Miss Dior handbag, which was shot in Paris at the beginning of June. The campaign was photographed by Mikael Jansson, with whom Marion has worked with previously, most notably for the August 2010 Interview magazine shoot.

CHAIN GANG: Marion Cotillard’s latest campaign for Dior — co-starring the chain-handled Miss Dior handbag — breaks Monday in Italian magazine Amica, followed by Madame Figaro and British Elle on July 16. A range of September magazines are slated to carry the sun-dappled ads by Mikael Jansson, including Vanity Fair.

Good news, the release date of Marion’s upcoming movie ‘Contagion‘ has been moved ahead 6 weeks. Instead of on October 21 it will now be released in the US on September 9, 2011 (source). Hopefully, also the release dates in other countries will be moved ahead.

TheFilmStage.com has a bad quality picture of the ‘Contagion‘ poster. Isn’t it amazing how many Academy Award winners & nominees are involved in this?

This is just a quick update to let you know that the main part of the website has been moved to the same host as the media parts. The site should perform much better now. ‘Little White Lies‘ is out in theatres in Australia! It will be out in Germany on July 7 (extensive official site) and it will be released on DVD and Bluray in the UK on August 22 (source). So I think all this is a good opportunity to catch up on some movie promotion Marion Cotillard did last year.

Pierre Rabhi and his ecology movement Les colibris announced last Sunday that they’re fillming a documentary with Marion Cotillard called ‘une (R)évolution‘ which will be released in cinemas in the first half of 2012 together with an accompanying book so that the public gives their all for the (environmental) campaign. The movie tells the story of a profound change in society that has started taking place in 2000. It will show what our world might look like as well as examples of pioneers small and large.

To put together this documentary they’re asking the public to help them with a guide of 35 actions for our environment that everyone can take right where they live. They will be holding 22 forums in regions across France to engage the public. Become a colibri to support the movement and to know more.

This is still only just a rumour but it has been mentioned online (Enculture, Twitter) that Marion Cotillard will be starring in Jacques Audiard’s next movie. He’s best known for directing and co-writing the Oscar nominated ‘A Prophet‘. So, what is his next movie? It’s ‘Un goût de rouille et d’os‘ and is an adaptation of the book by Craig Davidson with the same title (English title: Rust and Bone) and tells the story of 8 people. Filming for the movie is currently scheduled to take place September to November 2011.

Parallel stories of marginal characters, experiencing their inner demons and their obsessions: a young boxer fighting in illegal fights, an authoritarian father making of his son a great basketball player, an advertising executive being an enthusiast of pit bull fights and a magician disappearing one day from the stage …

Can’t wait for a confirmation of Marion’s part in this!
