Sony Pictures Classics have revealed that they will release on Blu-ray Woody Allen’s love letter to the French capital Midnight in Paris (2011), starring Owen Wilson (The Darjeeling Limited), Rachel McAdams (Sherlock Holmes), and Kurt Fuller (The Pursuit of Happyness). Earlier this year, the film had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
Midnight in Paris is a romantic comedy set in Paris about a family that goes there because of business, and two young people who are engaged to be married in the Fall have experiences there that change their lives. It’s about a young man’s great love for a city, Paris, and the illusion people have that a life different from theirs would be much better.

SAG Preview 2011: Actors on Actors
“Michelle Williams’ portrayal of Marilyn is not an impersonation, she eloquently depicts the all-encompassing layers of the woman who has captivated the world even 50 years after her death. Michelle embodies this challenge with a mysterious attraction all her own and yet still so Marilyn in complexity and depth. Rather than further push Marilyn’s sexual aura, Michelle captures the very essence of the life we missed — the life we can’t see in pictures. Michelle’s representation of Marilyn’s vulnerability, allure, humor and often childish demeanor reveals the inner struggles and the reality of the icon’s multi-layers as Marilyn Monroe and Norma Jean. I admire Michelle’s ability to give life to each aspect of this faceted character, while embracing the confidence and whimsy of an actress who left such an indelible impression in cinema.”

The new campaign of ‘Miss Dior’ has hit and this time it is Hollywood as the location.
L.A. WOMAN: Marion Cotillard continues to rack up the air miles in her role as a Christian Dior spokesmodel. The Oscar-winning actress — who has already been pictured in Paris, New York, Shanghai and London for the French brand — traveled to Los Angeles recently to pose for photographer Steven Klein at a groovy house by architect John Lautner. She is seen clutching a Lady Dior bag in multicolored crocodile, with a swimming pool and the Hollywood hills in the background. Giovanna Battaglia styled the ad, with Julien d’Ys on hair and Christophe Danchaud doing makeup. The campaign is slated to break in the International Herald Tribune on Nov. 14 and the Financial Times on Nov. 19. French weeklies and December monthlies are to follow.

Screendaily has posted an article on this month’s American Film Market (AFM). One film which will be shopped around is Guillaume Canet’s US Remake of ‘Les Liens Du Sang’ now being called ‘Blood Ties’ (in which James Gray helped with the script).
The article states that Marion may be potentially starring in the project.
Sales company Wild Bunch are close to coming on to rep Canet’s project, and it’s said that Mark Wahlberg (who worked with Gray on both “The Yards” and “We Own The Night”) is circling the role of one of the brothers, with Cotillard and “Avatar” lead Zoe Saldana also linked to the film.
It also confirms that James Gray is planning to start filming ‘Low Life’ in January.
As on Tuesday, Marion Cotillard and Matthias Schoenarts continued to film for ‘Un goût de rouille et d’os‘ (Rust & Bone) on a private beach called Goéland in Cannes yesterday (source). Their characters Stéphanie and Ali were taking a dip in the ocean. Marion was seen sitting in a wheelchair and it was made to look as if she was wearing prosthetics from the knees downwards. Although the production was trying hard to cut off the view to the set to ensure privacy many of the pictures taken seem very intrusive (those are not included in this update) so I hope production moves to a more secluded area soon.
044 Un goût de rouille et d’os (Rust and Bone) – 2012 > On Set, Cannes, October 12
I added a few additional pictures from October 5 when Marion Cotillard was rehearsing with the orca whales in Marineland at Antibes, France. Then you can also enjoy new pictures from last Saturday at the same place. It is currently unclear whether those were more rehearsals or actual filming took place. And then you can also see pictures taken in Cannes yesterday, where Marion Cotillard was seen filming scenes while being in character and walking on a crutch.
You can see pictures of Marion and co-star Matthias Schoenarts from today’s filming on the beach in Cannes on EyePrime.
