FORMIDABLE

An extraordinary performance by an extraordinary actress. In this movie the leading lady is a tour of force and pain, an enigmatic creature whose talent can only be described as timeless.
Who is Edith Piaf and who is Marion Cotillard? They're both one, it will be impossible to separate the two. This is a disturbing movie and at the end of it people just don't know what to say. I was burden with sadness, I was emotional and I cry. Really cry. This is not a Cinderella story, where dreams come true. This is the story of a great singer, a damage women with a voice of an angel. I am still stunned by the brilliance. They need to create an Academy Award just for her..It's so good that I don't think a simple Oscar will be enough!!!!

Adored La Vie en Rose; however, I'm mystified why so much of the film concentrates on her reactions: fits, hollering, etc. Which demons played with her soul? Why were so many anguishes left unprobed>
