Dior and French Elle host a dinner in honor of Marion Cotillard in Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc
Those who spent nearly seven hours at Du Cap during the epic amfAR gala were destined to return to the venue…the very next night. Marion Cotillard and Dior were certainly worthy Eden Roc causes, as French Elle hosted a dinner to honor the Oscar winner and the latest John Galliano muse. “Being Lady Dior is fabulous,” Cotillard decided while looking out to the port of the Antibes. “I meet beautiful people and go to amazing parties. But most of all I love John; he’s so unique and creative. I like people who take risks, and he’s the boldest designer of them all.”
It turned out, of course, that nearly everyone in attendance was in turn a fan of the actress. “There’re very few luminous and absolutely transcending actresses in our generations,” said Sidney Toledano. “Women that could take your breath away like Sharon Stone, Monica Belucci…Marion is certainly in that magical league.” “Besides being a phenomenal actress, she’s very modern and intelligent woman,” added Delphine Arnault. “She makes us all want to dream!” Other Dior dreamers and guests included the actress’ Nine producer Harvey Weinstein with wife Georgina Chapman, Alex de Betak, Natasha Poly, Ed Chapman and Patrick Demarchelier.
As guests sat down for dinner, Eugenia Silva took in the view and admitted that she learned to pace herself during the festival. “I was here in the very beginning, and just came back for this dinner. You need to have an escape plan during the Festival,” she offered. “Otherwise, you’ll be trapped in the five hotels that host an endless string of parties here.” As everyone toasted the woman of the hour with champagne, Cotillard admitted to harboring one tiny regret. “I get to wear amazing Dior dresses, but I don’t get to keep them,” she smiled. “They all go into this magical archive!”
