On the cover of Telegraph Magazine
Marion Cotillard graced the cover of Daily Telegraph Saturday insert Telegraph Magazine on June 20. Thanks to Lorna I’ve added the scans to the gallery. Please also take time to read the in-depth portrait/interview either on the scans or in our press archive, it’s really well worth your time!
• Dark Star, Telegraph Magazine, June 20
She’s a great and real person who doesn’t fall into the movie stardom cliché. She is an artist first and foremost, and I’ve never seen anyone work so hard in my life. When you went into the rehearsal room, there she would be, working and working. She was just living the role. Daniel Day-Lewis was absolutely blown away by her, as I was, as anybody was.

BlackBook Magazine Pictures & interview
While I’m awaiting the arrival of my own copy of the new BlackBook Magazine that my friend in the US is buying for me the magazine’s website released the very interesting interview with Marion Cotillard and the pictures from the inside of the magazine. I’ve added those and some outtakes to the site’s gallery. Merci Marion-Cotillard.fr for the info on how to find them.
The New York photo shoot took place May 5, the day after the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Be sure to read this very insightful interview.

Harvey, Leonardo, Russell: all love Marion
I’ve added a new article from French website PurePeople to the press archive: Incroyable Marion Cotillard. Basically it’s an article with quotes from other people about Marion, how she’s got Hollywood at her feet. Here the translated quotes:
Harvey Weinstein (producer of Nine)
Marion is a great professional! She’s become my friend because I was captivated by her talent but also and above all by her dogged determination at work and her unconditional involvement in her films. (For the presentation of Nine at Cannes,) I had chosen Penélope Cruz to be present for the screening of some scenes of the film to journalists, but she had to cancel at the last minute because she had food poisoning. Without hesitation, Marion made herself available to replace her. That’s Marion!
She has several strings to her bow. She’s become as powerful as any other Hollywood actress.
Leonardo DiCaprio (costar in the upcoming Inception)
Marion is one of the most talented actresses of our generation in my opinion. She radiates such strength and such energy in everything she does that one can have nothing but admiration for her.
Russell Crowe (costar in 2006′s A Good Year)
For A Good Year, it was like filming next to an angel each day.
Dior & Elle Magazine Party
On May 22 Dior and ELLE magazine hosted a dinner in honor of Marion Cotillard at the Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc. The hotel’s furnishings were all covered in red Chinese silk and Marion, who attended together with Guillaume Canet, matched the Asian flare of the event by wearing a crimson bustier dress. Here some of her quotes:
Cannes is every bit as glamorous as the Oscars
Being Lady Dior is fabulous. I meet beautiful people and go to amazing parties. But most of all I love John; he’s so unique and creative. I like people who take risks, and he’s the boldest designer of them all.
I get to wear amazing Dior dresses, but I don’t get to keep them,” she smiled. “They all go into this magical archive!

The Weinstein Company Celebrates ‘Nine’ in Cannes
I’ve added an article from someone who met Marion Cotillard at the annual Gaumont lunch, where she was promoting Le dernier vol. She revealed her 2008 Halloween costume:
• Cotillard on a Tear, Hollywood.com
Marion Cotillard celebrated ‘Nine‘ together with the movie’s producer The Weinstein Company earlier today. Her co-star Penélope Cruz was supposed to stand next to her. Unfortunately, she was sidelined by “some sort of food poisoning.” People.com reports:
Harvey Weinstein passed on the bad news to a select group of journalists. He then introduced Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard, another star of the ensemble piece. “It was an amazing adventure, it was my dream to be in an American musical,” Cotillard said. “I really hope you are going to love what you are going to see.”
Weinstein added, “When you see [Cotillard] sing, when you see her dance, we bring back a tradition that we need to do more of.”

aren’t always what they seem.

Marion graces the cover of Elle magazine
Marion Cotillard is featured on the cover of the new issue of French Elle magazine, which appears on newsstands tomorrow. I had to look twice to be sure that this is really Marion but this is nothing short of a spectacular photoshoot! I’ve added previews to the gallery. The article is to promote The Lady Noire Affair and Public Enemies and I guess we know now why Elle magazine is co-hosting the dinner in honor of Marion during the Cannes Film Festival on May 22. Stay tuned for HQ scans and an English translation of the interview!
By the way, the new Guillaume Canet-directed project on Marion’s schedule is indeed called ‘Les Petits Mouchoirs‘. “He envisioned me as this lively girl – not necessarily the most stable – but who’ trying to find her place in the world. And I liked that very much!” (Il m’a imaginée dans la peau d’une fille à vif, pas vraiment la plus stable du monde, mais qui essaie de trouver sa place. Et ça me plaît beaucoup !)
