According to the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona (OBC)‘s 2012/2013 Season Programme Marion Cotillard will finally reprise her role as Joan of Arc in Arthur Honegger’s oratorio Jeanne au bûcher (Joana a la foguera) on November 17 and 18 under the directon of Marc Soustrot. She will be accompanied by the choirs Liedercamera, Madrigal and Vivaldi. The concert will be transmitted live on Medici TV on November 17, 2012. The concerts are held in honour of the 600th anniversary of Joan of Arc’s birth.

WWD just posted the preview of the new Lady Dior ad. Isn’t it fabulous? The new ad campaign really comes full circle as it is once more set in Paris and was shot by Peter Lindbergh who already shot Marion for her first ever Dior Ad Paris – Lady Noire (and for Italian Vogue & Chopard promotion back in 2008).

OSCAR PARTY: Christian Dior is the latest fashion player to have infiltrated the Communist Party Headquarters in Paris. Site of a Prada party, and fashion shows for Dries Van Noten and Thom Browne, the landmark Oscar Niemeyer-designed building serves as a dramatic backdrop for the Lady Dior bag and its Oscar-winning ambassador, Marion Cotillard. In it, she clutches a new version of the handbag in crocodile and raffia: the texture echoed in the thousands of metal slats on the domed ceiling of its circular conference room. The ads, lensed by Peter Lindbergh, are slated to break in a range of May fashion magazines, including Tatler, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Elle, W, French Vogue and Madame Figaro.

Dior have also uploaded the actual Making Of both the print campaign by Steven Klein and the short film by John Cameron Mitchell. We learn that it is the first comedy in the series of Dior short films and that it is inspired by this 1973 short film by Richard Avedon and starring Lauren Hutton. I can’t wait to see the full L.A.dy Dior short film on December 13!

Dior just uploaded a teaser of the forthcoming John Cameron Mitchel-directed short film starring Marion Cotillard that is taking place in Los Angeles. Interestingly, this seems to be for Lady Dior again, not Miss Dior.

The new campaign of ‘Miss Dior’ has hit and this time it is Hollywood as the location.

L.A. WOMAN: Marion Cotillard continues to rack up the air miles in her role as a Christian Dior spokesmodel. The Oscar-winning actress — who has already been pictured in Paris, New York, Shanghai and London for the French brand — traveled to Los Angeles recently to pose for photographer Steven Klein at a groovy house by architect John Lautner. She is seen clutching a Lady Dior bag in multicolored crocodile, with a swimming pool and the Hollywood hills in the background. Giovanna Battaglia styled the ad, with Julien d’Ys on hair and Christophe Danchaud doing makeup. The campaign is slated to break in the International Herald Tribune on Nov. 14 and the Financial Times on Nov. 19. French weeklies and December monthlies are to follow.

001 Lady Dior: Los Angeles > Print Ads

While it is as of yet unclear whether Marion Cotillard will head to Venice for Saturday’s world premiere of ‘Contagion‘ before taping her talk show appearances it seems that the John Cameron Mitchell-directed new Dior commercial is being filmed this week in Los Angeles (source: Ceasar Fernando Barajas). [edit:] According to Terry Mcshane and Alexa Michelle they’re filming today.

If you want to look at a scene from ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ that Marion shot with Gary Oldman in Pitsburgh before finishing her filming and going to LA a bit over a week ago watch this video on YouTube, courtesy of Nickolay. While it is shaky you still get a good look at Marion.

It’s been announced today that ‘Contagion‘ will open the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland on September 22, 2011. Unfortunately, I will not be able to go (source: Hollywood Reporter).

John Cameron Mitchell – who directed Marion Cotillard’s Lady Dior short movie in London – ended his Mattachine’s club tour in Los Angeles last Sunday. LA Weekly published an interview with him on the occasion. And there was an interesting tidbid at the end of it:

While in LA, Mitchell will direct his second Dior commercial starring Marion Cotillard.

WWD has the first look of the new campaign for the Miss Dior handbag, which was shot in Paris at the beginning of June. The campaign was photographed by Mikael Jansson, with whom Marion has worked with previously, most notably for the August 2010 Interview magazine shoot.

CHAIN GANG: Marion Cotillard’s latest campaign for Dior — co-starring the chain-handled Miss Dior handbag — breaks Monday in Italian magazine Amica, followed by Madame Figaro and British Elle on July 16. A range of September magazines are slated to carry the sun-dappled ads by Mikael Jansson, including Vanity Fair.

Pierre Rabhi and his ecology movement Les colibris announced last Sunday that they’re fillming a documentary with Marion Cotillard called ‘une (R)évolution‘ which will be released in cinemas in the first half of 2012 together with an accompanying book so that the public gives their all for the (environmental) campaign. The movie tells the story of a profound change in society that has started taking place in 2000. It will show what our world might look like as well as examples of pioneers small and large.

To put together this documentary they’re asking the public to help them with a guide of 35 actions for our environment that everyone can take right where they live. They will be holding 22 forums in regions across France to engage the public. Become a colibri to support the movement and to know more.

According to PurePeople the upcoming Dior campaign with Marion Cotillard – which was shot last week in Paris, see recent updates – will not be for the Lady Dior handbag but for the Miss Dior handbag, to be released in stores at the end of July.
