‘Beds Are Burning’ coming in September
You may have been as curious as I to listen to the new cover version of Midnight Oil’s Beds are burning – recorded by stars such as Marion Cotillard, Guillaume Canet, Mélanie Laurent and Vincent Pérez – which was supposed to be available for download this past Thursday.
The song is actually part of a campaign launched yesterday by former secretary general of the United Nations Kofi Annan and Live Aid founder Bob Geldof.
The “tck tck tck” campaign, pronounced tick, tick, tick to symbolise time running out, was created by Havas Worldwide and will break online today and appear on TV and press in the coming days.
The campaign has been backed by the Advertising Community Together initiative and Havas Worldwide’s global chief executive, David Jones, is calling on all advertisers to feature the tck tck tck logo on all ad campaigns globally between July and December.
The ad aims to urge people from around the world to become “climate allies” and apply pressure on world leaders to reach a just and binding deal at the UN Climate Change conference in Copenhagen in December 2009.
Additional components of the campaign will include the release of merchandise dog-tags and a cover version featuring several actors and singers of the song Beds are Burning by Australian rock band Midnight Oil, which will be available to download free from September.

So we’ll have to be patient a little while longer – but this campaign sounds interesting and hopefully it’ll achieve its aim.
Lady Dior clips & pictures
I’ve added the new clips for the Olivier Dahan directed short film ‘The Lady Noire Affair‘ as well as the previous clips for the Peter Lindbergh photographed Paris campaign – all for Lady Dior – to the video archive. Some new Lady Noire stills also made their way into the gallery as well as the screencaptures of course. Enjoy!

Marion arrived at Cannes today
According to various reports as well as the official festival website Marion Cotillard arrived at the Cannes Film Festival today. She was spotted wearing a pink dress. Hopefully, we’ll also get pictures soon.
Marion Cotillard is on the list of invitees for the next broadcast of ‘Le grand journal’ on Canal+, Monday, May 18, at 7.05 pm.
Not only will the Lady Dior short film The Lady Noire Affair be unveiled during an intimate diner at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc next week, also all of her upcoming movies – Public Enemies, Nine and Le dernier vol – are being promoted during the festival’s film market. This part of the festival is not open to the public but ScreenDaily reported that a promo reel for Le dernier vol will be shown. Lets hope that means we’ll get to see a trailer soon!
Additionally, word is out that the next stop on Lady Dior’s journey will be New York. Not sure when exactly the first print ads will show up but the short movie for that city will be called The Lady Rouge Affair and will be released at the end of this year. To see the short movies for the remaining 2 – yet unnamed – cities we’ll have to wait till 2010.
‘The Lady Noire Affair’ Stills
I created a new album in the gallery for all the new stills from the Lady Dior short film. I will replace them with better quality versions whenever I find them. There’s also a (tagged) picture of Marion Cotillard attending an exclusive screening of the short film at the end of April.

Preview “Lady Dior Thriller”
More information about the 7-minute film in support of the Lady Dior handbag: it will debut May 20 and will actually be a thriller starring Marion Cotillard. It will bring to life the famous ad campaign shot by the iconic Peter Lindbergh. So exciting!

Another project with Guillaume Canet?
Thanks Kit for directing me to an article at WWD.com which talks about Marion arriving for a fitting ahead of the upcoming Costume Institute ball. Read the article in the press archive. There are two things we learn:
1) There’s a new 7-minute film in support of the Lady Dior handbag that will debut on the Internet next month
2) Up next for Marion after Inception “a French film by her boyfriend – and “Lancaster” co-star – Guillaume Canet”
about aviator look in Le dernier vol:
I love that look: the helmet, the goggles, the jacket, everything. It’s very masculine. You feel confident
