Sofia has added the missing scans of the Marion Cotillard feature in the March issue of Interview. Check out the great scans of this oversized magazine.

Then, we (well, mostly Sofia) have added scans of the latest magazine features, mostly to promote ‘Deux jours, une nuit‘ (Two Days, One Night) but there’s also one for ‘The Immigrant‘. I love USA Today’s article and the photoshoot of Marion Cotillard and Joaquin Phoenix. By the way, the pictures featured in the print version are slightly different from the ones featured online.

Also, I noticed that the Empire issue with the new ‘Macbeth‘ picture also has a great photo from the set of ‘Anchorman 2‘.

Additionally, more articles we’ve added scans of before are now as text versions in our press archive and we’ve also added some outtakes. Enjoy!

3 More Magazine Covers & New Interviews

3 More Magazine Covers & New Interviews

The Immigrant‘ being released in the US tomorrow and ‘Deux jours, une nuit‘ premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in competition next Tuesday makes for a very interesting situation. We’re getting French and English media coverage for two of Marion’s movies starring her in the lead role. Not that I’m complaining.

The May issue of Studio Ciné Live comes with two covers, one featuring Marion Cotillard, the other Angelina Jolie. The Cannes issues of this week’s L’Express Styles and Télérama both feature Marion on the cover as well. All three magazines include brand-new photo shoots. Sofia added scans of all three yesterday.

Also, Marion Cotillard will be on the cover of Version Fémina’s Cannes issue (which comes out with Journal du Dimanche next Sunday).

Then there’s an article inside this month’s Premiere, thank you very much Elise for providing scans. This week, Marion was also on the cover of Variety in the US. If you’re able to provide scans (digital or real) we’d appreciate that very much. In the meantime I’ve added the outtakes and the cover. There was also an article in LA Times.

In addition to many online English interviews the French interviews and pictures from last week’s magazines have started to appear online so I added them. If you don’t speak French you can now copy the text into an online translator.

Marion Cotillard on 2 Additional Magazine Covers

Marion Cotillard on 2 Additional Magazine Covers

Marion Cotillard covers two more magazines in France this week – bringing the total count to five! Madame Figaro has more pictures from the shoot by Jan Welters also used by Elle and Ciné Télé Obs uses an additional picture by Elliot Bliss. Sylvie Testud – she played opposite Marion in ‘La Vie en Rose‘ as Edith’s friend Momone – wrote the portrait in Madame Figaro. She was impressed by her portrayal in the upcoming ‘Two Days, One Night‘ and by how Marion Cotillard is still the same person she met on the ‘La Vie en Rose‘ set in 2006.

Ciné Télé Obs is mostly about ‘Two Days, One Night‘ and I am getting more excited by the day about the movie. Her process about becoming Sandra was similar to when she became Edith Piaf. She created an empty space within her for Sandra and adopted the first things that came to her as inspiration. For Sandra these were a person from her family, a friend and Jean-Jacques Goldman. There are shots in the movie that last seven minutes and the Dardenne Brothers had specific ideas about what happens at what exact moment, Marion compared their precision to Swiss clocks – which led to 56 takes. But Marion would have done 250 takes had they asked as she had total confidence in them. Working with them was everything she ever dreamed about a collaboration with a director. While shooting ‘Macbeth‘ she had to send her son back to France as she wasn’t herself anymore. Lady Macbeth is totally crazy. Sandra wasn’t in too good shape either but at least ends up seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. There will be limited promotion for ‘Two Days, One Night‘ but Marion Cotillard wanted to give interviews because she really stands behind this movie. Bernadette Lafont’s passing makes her emotional. She remembers her advice “In this business you’ll meet so many people telling you you’re the eight world wonder. Imagine they’re just saying hello”. She tries to take the good and bad with distance, not to take it personally.

I added digital scans – Sofia will later replace These with better scans – and some outtakes. There’s also a new English interview about ‘The Immigrant‘.

Marion Cotillard on the cover of Interview

As ‘The Immigrant’ and ‘Blood Ties‘ will be released in the US this spring Marion Cotillard is on the cover of the March issue of Interview Magazine. The interview was conducted by John Cameron Mitchell who directed her L.A.dy Dior short movie and one of Marion’s favourite films: Hedwig and the Angry Inch. In the interview they talk about Lady Macbeth, Hedwig, the 2 movies coming out as well as Marion writing songs. Enjoy the read and the gorgeous new pictures.

Marion in magazines 2013 – early 2014

Marion in magazines 2013 – early 2014

2013 saw Marion Cotillard grace the cover of several French and international magazines. The release of two of her movies in Europe, ‘Blood Ties’ and ‘The Immigrant’, first in Cannes and then in the whole of France later in the year, earned her some attention from the media. While most of the coverage was in France, Marion was also on the cover of US ELLE in 2013, coinciding with the award she received from the magazine in late October.

We have finished adding all the scans from 2013 which featured brand new shoots and interviews.

With ‘The Immigrant’ having been released in Italy yesterday, the Italian press has been featuring Marion as well, providing us with these early 2014 scans from Gioia magazine and quick appearances in newspapers.

Both of Marion’s films should be released worldwide throughout the first half of this year.
