I’m back from my summer travels for the time being so I can catch up on all those Marion news I missed during my absence. To start, I have the actual scans of the article I posted last time. The French publication ‘Le Figaro Magazine’ visited the Marrocan set of ‘Le dernier vol‘ and they published some new stills! So exciting!!

This second batch of new interviews consists of French interviews and articles. If anyone has time to translate at least one or two of them that’d be great! This is the last update for a while as I’m leaving town again tomorrow and won’t be with internet access until at least next week.
The Sahara article is actually about Figaro Magazine‘s visit to the Le dernier vol set. We learn that the full name of Marion’s character is Marie Vallières de Beaumont.
Marion had an immediate visceral connection with Marie Vallières de Beaumont, this passionate woman who fights to rescue the man she loves to the point of exhaustion and who in the abandonment of the desert discovers a new meaning of life.
Marion Cotillard shares this perfectionism, she’s always extremely focused even for a short scene. The young Oscar winner has lost none of her naturality and simplicity though. Once we see her knitting a scarf for her niece. We’re amused to see her candidly confide her “unhealthy sentimentality” towards animals, including insects. Then the Marion we know is back, one evening she’s singing and dancing, together with a nomadic Berber family who arrived to work as extras on the film. “Like my character, I’ve found a lot more in the desert than I set out for: especially these smiles of the children!”
Finally! ‘Public Enemies‘ can be seen in US theatres as of today! Be sure to head out and watch Marion’s first movie since ‘La Vie en Rose‘ (2007). The movie will open in the UK July 3, in France July 8, in Australia July 30, and in Germany August 6 (see more dates).
Check out the many features on the movie’s official site! And read some new interviews:
Next, Marion Cotillard’s scheduled to promote ‘Public Enemies‘ in her home country France. First, she’ll attend the movie’s premiere in Paris tomororrow.
On Friday she’s the star guest of Radio RTL. In the morning (9.00-9.30 am) she’ll be interviewed during a programm called Laissez-vous tenter and in the afternoon she’ll participate in the programme La tête dans les étoiles together with Laurent Boyer. And in the evening there will be a screening of the movie in Lyon.
As previously announced, there’ll be a TV interview titled Marion Cotillard, la rencontre (20 minutes) airing on Canal+, Sunday 11.55 am.
I’m in and out of town this and next week but I’ll try to update the site as much as possible.
I added more pictures to some albums of earlier events this month as well as replaced the recent Public Enemies stills with better ones.
I added 6 more ‘Public Enemies‘ stills. As you must have noticed, Marion Cotillard is very busy at the moment and I could almost constantly update the site with news etc. My own life however, is pretty busy too right now, so I don’t know how soon I will catch up with everything. Thank you for your patience!
Don’t forget, Marion will appear on Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight at 12:35am ET/PT on CBS.
New release date for ‘Le dernier vol‘ in France is November 11, 2009.
Marion Cotillard’s character in ‘Inception‘ is reportedly called Lisa Hastley.
According to ScreenCave, Marion’s costars Leonardo DiCaprio and Ken Watanabe together with director Christopher Nolan have already started filming ‘Inception‘ earlier this month in Japan.
As the movie reportedly will be shot in 5 different countries until at least November we’re not sure when and where Marion Cotillard will join the team, but according to reports we had from Cannes it will be after she finishes filming ‘Les petits mouchoirs‘ in August.
This is quite a surprise. While the official ‘Public Enemies‘ is scheduled for next Tuesday, there will be a red carpet event at 6pm tonight prior to a screening of the film at AMC River East, 322 E. Illinois. Director Michael Mann and stars Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard are among the principals scheduled to walk the red carpet and talk to the press about the film.
Illinois Street will be blocked off in front of the multiplex, but there will be a few sidewalk and bleacher seats for fans eager to see Depp and the other actors.
Also, the 12 minute featurette PUBLIC ENEMIES: HBO FIRST LOOK starts airing on HBO this afternoon. Check out the complete schedule here.
According to the Calgary Sun filming for Marion’s next Hollywood production, the Christopher Nolan directed ‘Inception‘ – also starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Caine and Ellen Page among others – will start November 2009 in Kananaskis (Alberta, Canada). The article also reveals that the mysterious sci-fi movie has a budget of $200-million (!) and will be filming in 5 different countries.
While we know that ‘Public Enemies‘ will have its world premiere at the LA Film Festival June 23 it has now been announced that the movie’s European Premiere will take place in London, Leicester Square, on June 29 ahead of its UK theatrical release on July 3. Marion Cotillard together with Johnny Depp and Michael Mann are scheduled to attend. (source)
Then, thanks to Stéphanie for directing me to a thread in the Allociné forums. Apparently the official French premiere will take place July 2 at the UGC Normandie cinema in Paris. All the actors – incl. Marion – and the director are scheduled to attend. Here’s your chance to win 2 tickets to that exclusive event. Probably only if you’re a resident of France, though.
[Edit:] Apparently, this Paris screening of ‘Public Enemies‘ will open the Paris Film Festival, which runs July 2-14.
