According to the Calgary Sun filming for Marion’s next Hollywood production, the Christopher Nolan directed ‘Inception‘ – also starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Caine and Ellen Page among others – will start November 2009 in Kananaskis (Alberta, Canada). The article also reveals that the mysterious sci-fi movie has a budget of $200-million (!) and will be filming in 5 different countries.

While we know that ‘Public Enemies‘ will have its world premiere at the LA Film Festival June 23 it has now been announced that the movie’s European Premiere will take place in London, Leicester Square, on June 29 ahead of its UK theatrical release on July 3. Marion Cotillard together with Johnny Depp and Michael Mann are scheduled to attend. (source)
Then, thanks to Stéphanie for directing me to a thread in the Allociné forums. Apparently the official French premiere will take place July 2 at the UGC Normandie cinema in Paris. All the actors – incl. Marion – and the director are scheduled to attend. Here’s your chance to win 2 tickets to that exclusive event. Probably only if you’re a resident of France, though.
[Edit:] Apparently, this Paris screening of ‘Public Enemies‘ will open the Paris Film Festival, which runs July 2-14.
According to the Talk Show Lineup Marion Cotillard is scheduled to appear on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, June 22, 12:35am ET/PT on CBS. To avoid confusion, the interview will air during the night from Monday to Tuesday.
You may remember her successful appearance on the show back in January 2008 so this is most definitely something to look forward to.
The following day, June 23, at 7.30pm ‘Public Enemies‘ will have its world premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival and Marion is scheduled to attend.
From Gaumont’s Cannes Promo Flyer and Marion’s appearance on ‘Le grand journal’ (caps & clips coming soon) we have 2 new ‘Le dernier vol‘ stills. Have I already said how impatiently I’m awaiting its cinema release?!
Apart from France the movie is also scheduled to come to the French part of Switzerland on November 25, 2009!
As reported by Le Film Français last Thursday, Marion Cotillard will be narrating the documentary ‘Voyage sous les mers 3D‘, directed by Jean-Jacques Mantello and produced by his brother François. Thanks to her involvement the project will receive more attention from the media and thus help bring the importance of the environment’s protection more to people’s attention.
The film will be released in cinemas across France August 26, 2009. Titled ‘OceanWorld 3D‘ the documentary is also set for a US release in 2009, no specific date is yet available. However, my guess is that someone else will be providing the English narration (IMDb listing).
A tribute to the ocean, “Oceans 3D” takes viewers on a voyage through, among others, Californian kelp forests, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and Roca Partida Island off the coast of Mexico, which is home to thousands of sharks. Audiences will witness some of the most spectacular and unforgettable scenes of life beneath the waves ever captured in 3D: the manta ray’s enchanting ballet; the noble procession of hammerhead sharks; the lion fish’s relentless hunt; a group of young dolphins playing algae-football; the astonishing beauty of the Spanish dancer sea slug; and a unique encounter with the largest cetaceans on the planet.
Apart from the fact that Marion’s multiple former co-star (Love Me If You Dare and The Last Flight) and boyfriend Guillaume Canet is the script author and director of her new movie Les Petits Mouchoirs there are more connections. She will be re-united with former co-stars Gilles Lelouche (Love Me If You Dare and Ma vie en l’air) and Benoit Magimel (Lisa and Fair Play). Other cast members include Francois Cluzet, Anne Marivin and Jean Dujardin.
Here’s the synopsis for the $25 million tragicomedy which is scheduled to shoot for 12 weeks starting August 3 (4 in Paris, 8 in Cap Ferret):
A generational tragicomedy, “Mouchoirs” follows a group of friends from Paris to the coast at Cap Ferret near Bordeaux for their traditional summer holiday together. But the mood sobers as characters confess their innermost concerns.
“In the vein of ‘The Big Chill’ and ‘Peter’s Friends,’ ‘Mouchoirs’ mixes moments of high comedy and large emotions,” Attal said at Cannes, where he’s shopping Canet’s script to sales agents, distributors and Gallic TV operators.

“NINE” is a vibrant and provocative musical that follows the life of world famous film director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis) as he reaches a creative and personal crisis of epic proportion, while balancing the numerous women in his life including his wife (Marion Cotillard), his mistress (Penelope Cruz), his film star muse (Nicole Kidman), his confidant and costume designer (Judi Dench), an American fashion journalist (Kate Hudson), the whore from his youth (Fergie) and his mother (Sophia Loren). The film is directed by Rob Marshall (CHICAGO). The original 1982 Broadway production of “NINE,” with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston, won five Tony Awards including Best Musical.
I added a ‘Public Enemies‘ background story from the San Francisco Chronicle to the press archive. The middle part is an interview with Marion. She talks about her Johnny Depp’s characters first meeting, working with Johnny and of course the American accent. Be sure to read it!

An exclusive behind the scenes featurette (13 minutes) PUBLIC ENEMIES: HBO FIRST LOOK will air on HBO starting Tuesday, June 18, 2009. See the complete schedule here. Please, could anyone in the US be on the lookout for any Marion footage in this feature? If there is anything new we would be so happy to have a clip for the video archive here on the site, thank you!
Oh, and Ken Watanabe and Tom Hardy joined the incredible cast for Marion’s new movie ‘Inception‘.
“My fairy tale ends in few hours,” laughed Marion Cotillard, who arrived on the arm of John Galliano clad in a blush Dior column. “I have to be in the airport as soon as the dress and diamonds come off.” – Marion Cotillard at the Costume Institute Gala
