Via WWD.com comes the first image of Marion Cotillard in the recently announced Lady Dior bag campaign. I really like it:
Marion Cotillard, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of French songbird Edith Piaf in “La Vie en Rose,” was taken high above Paris for her latest role: as the face of a “cinematic” new campaign for the Lady Dior handbag. Perched on top of the Eiffel Tower, its intricate metalwork echoing the canework pattern on the iconic tote, Cotillard posed for photographer Peter Lindbergh wearing an enigmatic expression — and a sexy black number by John Galliano from the spring collection. The spots are slated to break at month’s end in France and the U.K. and are the first in a four-part series, with Paris being only the first city and chapter. Further details about her next adventure, and what precious cargo she’s carrying, are to be revealed on a forthcoming Web site: LadyDior.com, which is set to go live in mid-November. The campaign will run twice a year.
Thanks melaniefan for letting me know about Marion Cotillard being on the cover of free French magazine Neoplanète. None of the pictures are new but the article is really interesting, it’s a new interview about Marion’s take on ecology. I’ve added the relevant pages to the gallery.
First of all many many thanks for all your positive and encouraging comments on the new layout. It means the world to me!
Then I’ve added a picture of Marion Cotillard who attended a birthday party for Alexandre de Betak last Sunday at the end of the Paris Fashion Week. A lot of travelling back and forth from the English Isle and the continent, I dare say.
Paris’ king of runway productions, Alexandre de Betak, said he was “so lucky” to have “Happy Birthday” sung to him by none other than Kylie Minogue at his party Sunday at the tail end of Paris Fashion Week.
“Kylie’s sexy ‘Happy Birthday’ gave me the kick of energy for the next 10 years,” said de Betak. “I was speechless.”
Guests included Marion Cotillard, Guillaume Canet, Audrey Marnay and Joana Preiss.
Ms. Cotillard is back in London. London’s Cipriani restaurant hosted a dinner for the upcoming movie musical Nine cast members last night. Harvey Weinstein the producer gathered together Dame Judi Dench, Kate Hudson, Sophia Loren, Marion Cotillard and Fergie for dinner. They will start to shoot in a few days time.
See pictures at LaneyGossip.
[edit:] Added the pictures to our gallery here.
Marion Cotillard is back in Paris for the time being. On September 20 she attended Madonna’s concert in her home city together with boyfriend Guillaume Canet. Thanks to all of you who let me know about this in the forum, via email or in the comments section! And yesterday accompanied by “Nine” producer Harvey Weinstein she attended the Christion Dior show during the Paris Fashion Week. A multitude of other celebrities were also there, including Eva Green and Emma Watson.
[edit:] Added 6 lovely HQ pictures sent in by Mariana as well as some other mq pictures.
Again from the Daily Mail (via heads-up from celebrity blog Perez Richie). The leading ladies of the upcoming musical “Nine” who are currently undergoing rehearsals in London went to Madonna’s concert at Wembley Stadium last night. None of the pictures from the VIP section show Marion Cotillard in focus, and the article makes no mention of her – but she clearly was there. Her costars Kate Hudson, Fergie, Penelope Cruz, as well as media darling Gwyneth Paltrow all got mentioned. Life is unfair!
[edit:] I couldn’t resist adding some pics to the gallery.
I finally had the time to go to the place where they’re selling international magazines and was thus able to buy a copy of the July/August issue of the French Psychologies. View the scans. The pictures are not new but the interview is. Not only is it the first interview after the Oscars it is also so much more than your average celebrity interview. And I’m sure after reading it you’ll be motivated to improve your knowledge yourself. Many thanks to Mariana (first part as published online) and Anthony (full interview as published in the magazine) for providing Magnifique Marion Cotillard with an English translation. I myself have thrown in a bit of work to try and make the translation sound “English”. If anyone else has propositions how some sentences could be better translated please let us know in the comments section!
I went back to Paris for a few days, and I noticed how nice people were with me. Many told me that I boosted their morale. If I can share this energy, that fulfills me. Energy is life. It’s pleasant to experience notoriety. All one needs is to manage to leave it at its right place.
I can’t be someone that I’m not, I can’t lie. I was treated like an idiot, but I prefer looking like an idiot than a liar. I’m just someone who tries to be open-minded, to find out about things and to understand.
It’s easier to let yourself down, but so much more enriching to learn. When we bother to make that effort, passion always comes and everything lightens up, everything is getting easier. We even can become addicted. Being addicted to knowledge is good … read all
Once again, I bring you scans of magazine spreads featuring Marion Cotillard portraits taken by Peter Lindbergh. None are really new, but some pictures are shown in their entirety here or on one single page. This time around the Chopard promotion fashion features come from the following publications: Vogue (Japan) – July and Luna (Italy) – June.
And then there’s one new picture from the other Lindbergh photo shoot session – the one that appeared in the March issue of Italian Vogue. The new pic appeared in the May issue of Vogue France and came with a quote from the famous photographer:
“Quand j’ai vu “La Môme” en connnaissant personnellement Marion, j’étais sous le choc de sa transformation. Sur cette photo, on la voit telle qu’elle est, pas transformée, et je la trouve encore plus magnifique.”
When I watched “La Vie en Rose”, knowing Marion personally, I was shocked by her transformation. On this photograph you see her the way she is, not transformed, and I think she looks even more magnificent here.
The April issue of Elle Oriental features Marion Cotillard on the cover. The pictures are again of the promotional photoshoot for Chopard taken by Peter Lindbergh and there’s one picture in the set we haven’t seen before!
Mariana was so kind to donate scans of other April issues of Elle, namely from the Brazilian and Portuguese editions. I’ve also added Mirik’s scans of Russian InStyle magazines. Thank you everyone for your donations!
Kindly do not redistribute these scans at another Marion Cotillard fan site as they were obtained/donated exclusively for ‘Magnifique Marion Cotillard’. Thank you.
