To promote the theatrical release of ‘Les petits mouchoirs‘ in France on Wednesday Marion Cotillard together with Guillaume Canet and François Cluzet appeared on Le grand journal earlier tonight. Watch the videos on Canalplus.fr (La Suite 1 & 2) until I’ve added them to the video archive. Let’s hope they stayed for La boîte aux questions – we’ll find out tomorrow.

Marion Cotillard and Yodélice will be the guests of next Monday’s Le grand journal.

I added more pictures to the album of Thursday’s Paris premiere of ‘Les petits mouchoirs‘. The whole cast was there, including Maxim Nucci (Yodélice) and the child actors. Apparently, there was a dress code to wear black – although I haven’t found any reference to that yet. There’s a video with interviews of the cast – sadly not with Marion – on Premiere.fr.

Marion was wearing a Christian Dior Fall 2010 strapless leather dress and combined the look with few accessories but with bold lipstick and didn’t sweep her bangs to the side for a change. An unusual look for her which got very mixed feedback around the web. What do you think?

This is just a post to let you know I’ve started adding pictures of Marion Cotillard at the ‘Les petits mouchoirs‘ premiere in Paris earlier tonight to the gallery. I will add more information and pictures at a later time.

Guillaume Canet & Co. were very busy the previous Sunday, October 3. First they made a 15-minute stop (source) at the Pathé cinema in Lievin. Marion was unable to accompany them since she had to arrive earlier at their 2nd stop in Lomme for interviews (source) but sent greetings (source).

As already mentioned, they then stopped at the Kinepolis cinema in Lomme near Lille. This is where fans and media greeted Guillaume Canet and his friends: Marion Cotillard, Gilles Lellouche, François Cluzet, Pascale Arbillot, Laurent Lafitte and Joël Dupuch. Only absent due to filming commitments were Jean Dujardin, Benoît Magimel and Valérie Bonneton. France 3 aired a news report about the premiere with a short Marion interview the following day.

The group also made a stop at the UGC theatre in Villeneuve. There’s a video of this on YouTube uploaded by jeanpierreblauw. La voix du nord has 2 articles about this here and here.

The last stop was the UGC Ciné Cité Cinema in Lille. There are 2 very good videos by CalogeroFanzone on Youtube: Part 1 and Part 2. These are particularly noteworthy because they were having so much fun, even singing bits of songs while introducing the movie. I added screencaptures of these to the gallery.

Not surprisingly, all these highly successful advance screenings around the country in the past weeks have resulted in over 10,000 people having seen the movie prior to its official theatrical release on October 20 – as of October 4 (source). The number has increased since.

Marion Cotillard is featured on the cover of this week’s Styles – sold together with L’Express Magazine. While the cover is an old picture (BlackBook June/July 2009) the inside picture is new and looks like yet another Chopard Photoshoot. The interview is brand-new and interesting (thanks Nadine for the transcript). She talks about how Guillaume Canet is a very talented director. He always finds the right words to voice what he wants from his actors. Also about the personal issues of Marie, her character in Les petits mouchoirs as well as about her search for simplicity in her personal life. She doesn’t want to play a character in her everyday life anymore and is surprised when she looks at pictures of her from 10 years ago when she was wearing much more make-up etc. She also mentions the project by director David Cronenberg [Cosmopolis]: nothing’s signed but she keeps dreaming of starring in the movie.

I’m back from my internet-free holiday and slowly starting to catch up on everything that Marion has been up to. First up, gorgeous new pictures of Marion Cotillard on the cover of the new Glamour magazine in France. The photoshoot is fresh, young and fun. The article tries to figure out the real Marion and whether her character in ‘Les petits mouchoirs‘ (Little White Lies) is anything like her real self. A difficult enterprise as Marion as usual talks more about cinema than about herself – also we know that she brings authenticity to all characters she plays. I added more pictures to the album of the ‘Little White Lies‘ premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival – and also finally uploaded all the other pictures taken of Marion during her 2 days at the festival. After the premiere she attended the Fox Searchlight party where she was pictured with Josh Brolin and director Darren Aronofsky. The following day she attended the press conference, changed clothes for Unifrance’s Celebration of French Cinema before wrapping up the day in yet another dress at vitaminwater’s Backyard Dash. Tonight Marion Cotillard, Guillaume Canet as well as François Cluzet, Gilles Lellouche, Benoît Magimel and Laurent Laffitte – practically the whole Les petits mouchoirs gang – will all be present on TF1 as of 20.45 h on Enfants de la téle. Don’t forget to tune in if you live where you can watch TF1! Here’s the trailer:

Marion Cotillard’s great on the show and I just loved the old clips they showed of her. Some of when she was 8 and appeared in 2 television movies by a friend of her parents and one when she was 16 and took part in the educational ad “Tu t’es vus quand t’as bu?”. They also showed a scene from Extrême Limite which put her at unease but personally, I think she had nothing to worry about from that. Though I understand that when it’s about one’s own past one cannot be as objective.

After many ‘Les petits mouchoirs‘ (Little White Lies) advance screenings in France – even one that was kept rather quiet in Paris but which Marion & Guillaume attended – the official world premiere took place earlier this afternoon during the Toronto International Film Festival. Marion Cotillard looked effortlessly chic in a somewhat new look. Together with director Guillaume Canet and co-star Gilles Lellouche I’d say a very handsome & charming trio represented the movie in Canada.

After some technical difficulties to screen the movie with subtitles there were two screenings at another venue to make up for the annoyance. The first English reviews are out by The Hollywood Reporter and Variety – though especially the latter is spoilery and not only positive.

And the ever-lovely, always genuine Cotillard.
