‘Anchorman 2’ Blu-ray Screencaptures and clip

I added screencaptures and a clip of Marion Cotillard’s cameo in ‘Anchorman 2‘. She and Jim Carrey are participating in the international news teams battle with their “incredibly polite Canadian news team”. Marion Cotillard’s newsanchor is from French speaking Quebec News – “the real voice of Canada”.

Marion Cotillard and everybody else involved in this scene just got nominated for an MTV Award:

‘Joan of Arc at the Stake’ Press Release & Video Interview

‘Joan of Arc at the Stake’ Press Release & Video Interview

Following up on the ‘Joan of Arc at the Stake’ news. It’s listed on NY Philharmonic‘s website and you can buy tickets already!

I also added the ‘Joan of Arc at the Stakepress release to our press archive. This is a quote from Marion Cotillard about the news (also see video below):

“It is a great joy for me to be part of this tremendous adventure of Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher staged by the inspired Côme de Bellescize. Sharing this experience with the New York Philharmonic and the great actors Éric Génovèse and Christian Gonon will be an amazing journey. I want to warmly thank Alan Gilbert and Matthew VanBesien for offering us such a great opportunity. I feel so lucky and I am looking forward to sharing this work, which is, at this point, one of my greatest experiences as an actress.”

Conductor Alan Gilbert calls her his hero and a brilliant actress and director Côme de Bellescize said that “it’s a great pleasure and honor to have the opportunity to work with Marion, especially for a play that has such meaning for her.”

The two times Marion Cotillard had taken on this role before were concert versions but this time it will be a staged version. Inspired by a gothic cathedral square Joan (Marion Cotillard) and the stake will be positioned on a platform in the middle of the orchestra. Côme de Bellescize has staged this version before, in 2012 in Japan.

Interestingly, in the notes for Côme de Bellescize’s recent play Amédée it says that he will not only recreate the 2012 staging of Jeanne au bûcher in New York but also in March 2015 in Paris – with Marion Cotillard. I can’t wait for more info!

‘Sorties prevues’ – Screencaptures & Video

‘Sorties prevues’ – Screencaptures & Video

As previously announced Marion Cotillard was the guest when Laurent Weil presented Trailers for upcoming movies on December 28, 2013. As it turned out the interview was conducted during the Marrakech Film Festival just after Marion Cotillard had presented ‘Public Enemies‘ on Jemaa El Fna square, an experience she’s always dreamed about ever since hearing other people talk about it when she came to the festival before.

Then she talked about ‘Terre des ours‘, she loves documentaries and was at first hesitant to accept being the voice because she usually prefers the visuals in documentaries to speak for themselves. But she really loves how ‘Terre des ours‘ shows a place of this world where nobody goes and these sublime animals that are adversely affected by humans. So if this movie moves just one person to learn more or to help preserve this world she’s happy. Laurent Weil joked that this would be the first movie her son could watch, Marion laughed but said that she sometimes thinks of how Johnny Depp’s career changed when he had kids and she sometimes would like to make a movie just for kids.

After a couple of trailers Marion Cotillard talked about her experience of shooting ‘Deux jours, une nuit‘ (Two Days, One Night) with the Dardenne brothers. The movie is similar to their previous films in tone and genre and it was one of Marion’s greatest experiences as an actress. Their movies have some of the strongest moments she has ever seen in films and so she wanted to ask them about everything. She would have done anything for them. But even though she loves working with great cineasts she wouldn’t say this is an important criteria since it’s just amazing to have the opportunity to go from one cinematic universe to another.

After some more trailers they talked about the upcoming ‘Macbeth‘, for which she was in full preparation even though having taken out time to be part of the jury at the Marrakech Film Festival. She repeated that she had always believed to be one day portraying Lady M after playing her at drama school, however she thought it would take place on stage and in French.

Later, Laurent Weil asked her about the lack of comedies on her CV. She said she loves comedies but doesn’t think she has achieved the level of authenticity necessary for comedies yet or that the little bit of comedy she’s done is any good. (Interestingly, they don’t mention her cameo appearance in ‘Anchorman 2‘ even though later on the trailer was shown. People have praised her cameo by the way.)

Marion Cotillard promotes ‘Land of the Bears’ on Disney Channel

Marion Cotillard promotes ‘Land of the Bears’ on Disney Channel

I don’t think we already hava a news announcement about this but Marion Cotillard is narrating ‘Terre des ours‘ (Land of the Bears), the first documentary to be presented in cinemas in 3D. It’s being released in France on February 26. Visit the official Homepage for more Information and to view some pictures.

Set in the wilderness of the Kamchatka Peninsula, the land of legends and the kingdom of wild brown bears, we follow the daily adventures of five wild brown bears. A mother bear and her two young ones, an adolescent male and an experienced male leader. Each of them have their own concerns and preoccupations. The mother must feed and protect her cubs, whilst all they want is to explore the big wide world out there, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead of them. The adolescent is coming of age and must find his place in the adult world, whereas the experienced male must constantly defend his supremacy and impose his strength.

Marion Cotillard answered some questions posted on Disney Channel.fr during their program Spot Mag last Wednesday.

What is your favourite animal and why?
Oh, this is difficult because I love lots of animals. So to start, I love elephants. Because I watched many documentaries about elephants and because their ability to show emotion really moves me. They cry and really display emotion in a way that we humans can see.

I want to become an actress. Do you have an advice?
I recommend to take your time, to work, to experiment, I don’t know how old you are but to live your life and to live all the experiences that nourish the actress you will be.

What was your biggest adventure when you were a child?
I was born in Paris, I lived in a city in the suburbs. So when I moved to the countryside with my parents it was really a very big adventure. I moved from the 18th floor of a block of flats to a country house that had a huge garden with a river at the end. This has really enriched my life. It’s true that my life in the city has done that as well, but it really was a shock and a big adventure.

How does it feel to be famous?
It’s quite a peculiar thing, maybe I will never fully get used to it. Additionally, celebrity today sometimes comes from nowhere, from nothing. Someone can be famous for being on television etc. This is dangerous. But my celebrity also comes from the fact that people have seen a part of my life when I was telling a story. So my celebrity allows me to continue to tell stories. Anyway, I can’t complain.

Bonus questions

What was your dream job while growing up?
I wanted to be so many things that I decided acting was the best way to experience many different jobs.

What are your passions?
I love music, I can’t imagine my life without music. It’s my dream to be able to play an instrument very well. This is something I can’t at the Moment and it’s frustrating. I also love forests and nature. It’s one of the reasons I agreed to be the voice of ‘Land of the bears‘.

What made you want to be in cinema?
I come from a family of actors and storytelling and acting has always been part of my life. What made me want to be in cinema is because I really admire this art form and I used to watch a lot of films by Charlie Chaplin or the Marx Brothers. So all of this made me want to be in cinema.
