The 33rd annual London Critics’ Circle Film Awards will be held Sunday January 20 at the May Fair Hotel in central London.

USA Today has some quotes from Marion Cotillard about her Golden Globe nomination and plans for the holidays – “My family. Home” – and about award season:

The Hollywood Reporter says Marion Cotillard was in Paris, staying at a friend’s house, when she heard that she received a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a motion picture, drama, for Rust and Bone.

“I’m very happy for the movie, I’m very happy for French cinema. I’m very happy for French-language films,” says the actress, who mentions the nominations of Amour and The Intouchables for best foreign film as especially exciting. As for Jacques Audiard’s Rust and Bone, in which she plays a killer whale trainer who suffers a horrible accident, Cotillard says, “it’s really amazing to share a French movie with a U.S. audience. It’s a beautiful and very unconventional love story. It’s a movie that shows you can turn violence into power, and it’s a very beautiful and positive story.”

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association just announced their nominations on a very early morning at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills in California, presented by Megan Fox, Ed Helmes and Jessica Alba. Marion Cotillard was nominated for Best Actress – Drama for her performance in ‘Rust and Bone‘ (De rouille et d’os). Congratulations! This is her third Golden Globe Best Actress nomination, though the first in the Drama category. She previously won in the comedy/musical category for ‘La Vie en Rose‘ and was nominated for ‘Nine‘.

Also congrats to Marion’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ co-stars Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway for getting nominated as Best Actor/Actress in an Action Movie. The 18th Critics’ Choice Awards will be presented on January 10, 2013 at the Hollywood Palladium, the ceremony will be broadcasted on CW Network.

Marion was nominated for Best Actress and ‘Rust & Bone‘ for Best Foreign Language Film last Saturday by the Washington DC Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) but on Monday it was Jessica Chastain for ‘Zero Dark Thirty‘ and ‘Amour‘ that were announced as winners. ‘Rust and Bone‘ was also nominated for Best International Independent Film at the 15th Moët British Independent Film Awards last weekend but lost to ‘The Hunt‘. ‘Rust and Bone‘ is currently still nominated for Best International Film at the Film Independent Spirit Awards. Winners will be announced February 23, 2013.

Other critics associations named their winners in the past week or so and Marion Cotillard appeared neither as winner nor as runner up on those. So far, Jessica Chastain (‘Zero Dark Thirty‘), Emanuelle Riva (‘Amour‘), Jennifer Lawrence (‘Silver Linings Playbook‘) and Rachel Weisz (‘The Deep Blue Sea‘) were picked. Tomorrow we will get the SAG Award Nominations and on Thursday Golden Globe nominations which will tell us more but so far I have a feeling that Marion Cotillard is unlikely to win another Oscar but could get another nomination.

Marion Cotillard received an honorary tribute during the Gotham Awards at Cipriani Wall Street in New York on Monday evening. Her co-star from Big Fish, Public Enemies and the upcoming Blood Ties smilingly and with a lot of praise introduced the tribute. In her speech Marion Cotillard heralded challenges and new experiences that smaller films provide. She also said that filmmakers need champions and thanked IFP for being those champions. She thanked director Jacques Audiard and Matthias Schoeaerts and dedicated the award to 2 people who have always trusted in her at every stage of her career: her 2 agents Laurent Grégoire and Hylda Queally – all of which were also present.

Awards season is now upon us, and so the campaigning begins! The first ‘For Your Consideration’ advert for Rust & Bone has recently been shared on AwardsDaily.com, and you can now also view it in our Gallery. Marion is of course being campaigned for Best Actress for her role as Stéphanie in Rust & Bone, and numerous award sites are predicting nominations for Ms Cotillard. Let’s cross our fingers….!

Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton are presented with BFI Fellowships as “Beasts of the Southern Wild” and Chile’s “No” are also honored.

Jacques Audiard’s Rust and Bone won best film at a special standalone ceremony on the penultimate evening of this year’s BFI London Film Festival.

It is the first time a best film award has been decided on by a jury from a field of 12 Competition titles.The films were selected by BFI head of exhibition and festival director Clare Stewart together with the fest’s programming team.

The jury, headed by president David Hare — screenwriter, playwright, film and theatre director — also boasted input from: veteran Hong Kong film producer Nansun Shi; Argentine director Pablo Trapero; Victoria Pearman, producer of Crossfire Hurricane and president of Mick Jagger’s Jagged films; and the British actress Romola Garai.

Hare said: “Jacques Audiard has a unique handwriting, made up of music, montage, writing, photography, sound, visual design and acting. He is one of only a very small handful of filmmakers in the world who has mastered, and can integrate, every element of the process to one purpose: making, in Rust and Bone, a film full of heart, violence and love.”

Audiard’s film stars Marion Cotillard and Matthias Schoenaerts and details the love between a man and a woman who has suffered a terrible accident. It played in Competition during the Festival de Cannes, but walked away from that event empty-handed.

As mentioned in the last update Harper’s Bazaar held their Women of the Year awards at Claridge’s Hotel in London last night. Marion Cotillard was named ‘International Actor of the Year’ for her critically acclaimed performance in Rust and Bone. Congratulations!

The award was presented to her by Ralph Fiennes who said Marion Cotillard broke his heart in La Vie En Rose (source). ‘British Actor of the Year’ Emily Blunt – who was photographed with Marion – declared stalker tendancies towards her girl crush Marion Cotillard (source).

Marion Cotillard was wearing a Spring 2013 Dior dress with a navy silk panel and a broad black tulle skirt, white Dior heels and a diamond necklace. I simply love her makeup & dreamy, somewhat messy hairdo. It’s flawless! I will add pictures as soon as I have time!

The American Film Institute has announced the Centerpiece Galas and Special Screenings for its annual festival, which will take place from Nov. 1 through 8 in Hollywood, California.

‘Rust & Bone‘ (De rouille et d’os) is one of the Centerpiece Galas – and it will be featuring A Tribute to Marion Cotillard. Congratulations! It is scheduled for Monday, November 5, 7:30 p.m., at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
