Mark your calendars: Rob Marshall’s musical ‘Nine‘ will have its premiere in London at the Odeon, Leicester Square, on November 4, 2009. Hopefully, the full cast, incl. Marion will be attending! Thank you TheProjectNine for the heads up.
Marion Cotillard turns 34 today! I wish her a lovely day, hopefully she can spend time with her friends and family.
Thank you so much for all the nice comments you visitors are leaving here at the website all the time! It really encourages me to continue making this site better and more complete! Also my internet troubles seem to be over earlier than expected, at least I think so.
While we eagerly await the full video for ‘Beds are Burning‘ – the song to advertise the Tck Tck Tck Campaign for Time For Climate Justice – a new teaser as well as a ‘Marion Cotillard Tck Tck Tck Spot’ have hit the web. They’re both short but lovely – we also get to have a good look at Guillaume Canet in the teaser.
I uploaded the (probably) full portrait session, of which pictures first appeared in UK’s Telegraph Magazine – later other photos from the shoot also appeared in Femina, Télé 2 Semaines and Le Vif Weekend. Some of the pics are tagged but I’m sure you’ll enjoy looking at this absolutely gorgeous photo shoot as much as I!
A while ago, I added the portrait pictures for Marion’s Blackbook shoot, which was featured in the magazine’s June/July issue. While the original scans will be up shortly – I will use the internet-free time at home to scan my magazine clippings – I uploaded today the full session (featuring one new picture) in HQ as well as a small picture from behind the scenes. Enjoy!
A story of the heart you don’t come across often; One which unites Judith Milgrom, creator of Maje (fashion label) and Professeur Leca’s society Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque.
A heartbeat for a just cause:
Caring for children with born cardiac deformity no matter where they come from and giving them the chance to get surgery no matter the cost.
Artists good-heartedly joining the cause by offering their original works of art.
From October 21 until November 21, 2009 Maje “puts heart” to the matter and organizes an exhibition-sale at the Bon Marché Rive Gauche for all the original works of the invited designers (Marion Cotillard, Vanessa Paradis, Inès de la Fressange, Guillaume Canet, Ariel Wizman, Garance Doré, André, Kuntzel & Deygas, Marco Zanusso Jr, Sam Baron, Tania Bruno-Rosso, Nadège Winter, Mademoiselle Agnès…) as well as an exclusive sale of foulards made from their designs later on.
If your heart tells you to buy one of those foulards, you can find them in store (Maje boutique) as of November 12. All benefits from the sale will fully go to Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque – so that the children can live again, with a full heart. Source:Mécénat-Cardiaque.fr
According to official information sent to Marion Cotillard Web, Marion’s design will be shown during the exhibition (October 21 – November 21) and sold afterwards for the benefit of the society – however she’s in no way affiliated with Maje nor will her design be integrated into the range of foulards.
Thanks to our forum member Nadine I’ve been able to add a new picture of Marion Cotillard on the set of ‘Les petits mouchoirs‘ to the gallery. It’s actually from a French article from SudOuest.com.
The article mostly talks about how Cap Ferret is one of writer/director Guillaume Canet’s most favourite places, he loves the sunsets, the “cabane d’Édouard” in the evening after having eaten seafood – and everything else that makes him respect the region and its people. To help preserve the region, so that it doesn’t become the next St. Tropez, it will not be mentioned by name in the movie even though the majority of it is set there. There’s also talk about the dream cast. And a brief mention of Marion:
On the day of the filming of a “surprise” scene in a pretty villa there’s Marion Cotillard pirouetting in a casual dress, guitar in hand, waiting for the green light from her boyfriend/director.
“I was very lucky because they loved the script,” explains Guillaume Canet. “Most of them knew me. Marion also loved my film and the story. I think they’re all here out of respect for my work.”
It goes on to say that for the filming the actors renounced a certain comfort they’re used to – such as nearby lodgings. The mayor of Lège-Cap-Ferret didn’t want the place to be crowded with trucks from the film crew. Filming is set to continue until October 8.
Thanks to jannaclaire who uploaded the clip to YouTube we can all enjoy the brief sneak preview at ‘Nine‘s Behind the Scenes that ET aired yesterday. There are some new shots of Marion. Edit: Caps have since been replaced by HQ ones from official Rehearsal Montage.
There were some rumours that ‘Nine‘ would be pushed back. However, The Weinstein Company has officially issued the following statement to HitFix.com:
“The rumors are untrue. ‘Nine‘ is opening limted on November 25 and will continue to expand through Christmas.”
While the song ‘Beds are Burning’ for the Time for Climate Justice – Tck Tck Tck Campaignis already available on MySpace (it seems that was only a temporary version, it has since been removed), the official launch date is October 1. During the previously mentioned press conference in Paris on October 1 the video clip will be unveiled and it is also as of October 1 that it will be available as free download on many digital platforms. Each click, download and listening will count as a “virtual musical petition” that will be presented to the political leaders of the world at the climate conference in Copenhagen in December.
It would appear that Marion Cotillard really has been cast in the big Portuguese production ‘Mistérios de Lisboa‘ – according to yesterday’s news item on Ante-Cinema.com. Thanks Nadine for the information and Mariana for the translation:
Marion Cotillard (Public Enemies), Louis Garrel (The Dreamers), Léa Seydoux (Inglourious Basterds) and Melvil Poupad (Speed Racer) are part of the impressive international cast of Mysteries of Lisbon, one of the biggest Portuguese productions ever, which also includes Portuguese actors Adriano Luz, Maria João Bastos, São José Correia, José Afonso Pimentel, Ana Padrão, Catarina Wallenstein, Ivo Canelas, Margarida Vila Nova, Carloto Cotta, among many others.
Chilean director Raoul Ruiz is in Portugal to prepare this ambitious project, that will recreate the city of Lisbon of the end of the 18th century, beginning of the 19th century, and that will culminate in a long-feature film and a TV series. Produced by Paulo Branco — in a Clap Filmes/Alfama Filmes co-production –, Mysteries of Lisbon will be shot mainly in Lisbon, but also in France and in Brazil. The film will already have two days of shooting during the month of September.
Interestingly, Léa Seydoux was handed her Chopard Trophy by Marion Cotillard at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Note that in this bit of information Laetitia Casta is no longer listed.
Edit: According to the producer’s website Marion Cotillard’s involvement is not definite yet as they posted yesterday:
Melvil Poupad, Léa Seydoux, Gregoire Leprince-Ringuet, Martin Loizillon, Louis Garrel and, possibly, Marion Cotillard are part of the impressive international cast of Mysteries of Lisbon, one of the biggest Portuguese productions ever.
