I’m actually quite late with posting this but Marion Cotillard attended an event in Beijing, China, on November 15 and I added 5 HQ pictures to the gallery:

The Dashanzi Art District in Beijing became a mecca for star-chasers on Saturday, when a dozen or more domestic and international celebrities attended the opening of an art exhibition.

“Christian Dior & Chinese Artists,” an exhibition by the French fashion house Dior, attracted international film icons, including Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron, French actress Marion Cotillard and Chinese celebrities Maggie Cheung, Lin Chi-Ling and Li Bingbing.

On display are Dior’s designs, including works by Christian Dior himself and the label’s current chief designer John Galliano, as well as works of 22 Chinese contemporary artists that were inspired by Dior’s designs.

The exhibition at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in the Dashanzi Art District runs until January 15.

I’ve now added some HQ and MQ pictures of Marion at the illumination ceremony at Champs Elysées in Paris earlier this week. I’ve also capped the various videos that I found online. Here the links to watch them (since I don’t think I’ll be adding them to the media vault):

On a break from filming Nine, Marion Cotillard was present next to the Mayor of Paris Bertrand Delanoë earlier tonight when the lights at the famous Champs-Elysées were illuminated. The lights in celebration of the forthcoming Christmas and New Year festivities were installed on a total of 415 trees along 2 kilometres on the “most beautiful road of the world”. To celebrate France’s presidency in the European Union the lights are in a blue shade this year. As reported by AFP, for two years now, new generation diodes have been used for the Champs-Elysées illumination. Thus the energy costs are reportedly cut by 70 %. A fact which ecology loving Marion Cotillard certainly appreciates. I am currently trying to find good pictures of her at the event. Stay tuned!

Ms. Cotillard was also interviewed on French radio station RTL this morning and RTL have an excerpt of it on their website. She talks about being back home for the afore-mentioned ceremony as well as the infamous 9/11 comments. I’m currently working on getting an accurate translation so there’s no need to start asking for it.

Ain’t It Cool News have a very early review up – it’s tentatively optimistic. Since the reviewer didn’t get to see the final product yet he advises: “it’s probably just better to wait until next summer and not know anything about it when you go in.” So read at your own peril. Here the Marion related part:

The best part is the love story between Dillinger and actress Marion Cotillard from La Vie en Rose, who plays a bright girl leading a fairly simple life who Dillinger falls in love with (rather quickly – but it’s humorous and it works). Their relationship is well developed and the most effective storyline, interleaved well in to the movie as to not take away from the action for too long… which is important because that is what michael mann does best and there’s plenty of it in this movie.

Thanks patel for the heads up!

Via WWD.com comes the first image of Marion Cotillard in the recently announced Lady Dior bag campaign. I really like it:

Marion Cotillard, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of French songbird Edith Piaf in “La Vie en Rose,” was taken high above Paris for her latest role: as the face of a “cinematic” new campaign for the Lady Dior handbag. Perched on top of the Eiffel Tower, its intricate metalwork echoing the canework pattern on the iconic tote, Cotillard posed for photographer Peter Lindbergh wearing an enigmatic expression — and a sexy black number by John Galliano from the spring collection. The spots are slated to break at month’s end in France and the U.K. and are the first in a four-part series, with Paris being only the first city and chapter. Further details about her next adventure, and what precious cargo she’s carrying, are to be revealed on a forthcoming Web site: LadyDior.com, which is set to go live in mid-November. The campaign will run twice a year.
