TF1 aired a Marion Cotillard special during their programme 50min inside. Nothing really new except you can see her arrive at the Paris Fashion Week a month ago and some new excerpts from almost 2 year old interviews. The rest of the clip shows various French journalists talk about her life after the Oscars and when she will return to France.

GlamourParis reports that Marion Cotillard has been signed as the new face of the famous Lady Dior bag. The campaign will be shot by talented photographer Peter Lindbergh. Remember, he’s a friend of Marion’s and brought us the pictures in the Italian Vogue as well as the Chopard promotion pictures that appeared e.g. in Elle Oriental.
Here’s an English news post from WWD.com:
Leave it to Christian Dior to add an Oscar-winning actress to its stable of famous faces. Rumor has it Marion Cotillard, star of “La Vie en Rose,” has been tapped as the new face of the perennially popular Lady Dior bag, which was introduced in 1995 and famously carried by the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Look out for the first campaign image featuring Cotillard later this year. Among other famous women who have carried the Lady Dior in advertising are Monica Bellucci, Diane Kruger and Carla Bruni, now the First Lady of France.
Thank you all for your patience while we were obtaining a translation of the article featured in the latest issue of French magazine Néoplanète ever since we knew Marion is on the cover. An even bigger thank you goes to Mina who despite a busy schedule found time to complete it for us! Enjoy!
Is it true you declined a juicy offer from a cosmetics company…
It wasn’t cosmetics, but perfume. It goes back in 2004: a big luxury brand wanted me as a spokesperson for this fragance. The problem is, I can’t “sell” products I don’t wear or are made with harmful ingredients. You know, it’s not because I became “bankable” that you’ll see me compromise myself in advertising campaigns. Especially for products I’d throw away if offered. I need to stay true to myself!
Thanks melaniefan for letting me know about Marion Cotillard being on the cover of free French magazine Neoplanète. None of the pictures are new but the article is really interesting, it’s a new interview about Marion’s take on ecology. I’ve added the relevant pages to the gallery.
This Variety article caught my eye last week. It’s actually about the fate of some 200 projects after the split between DreamWorks and Paramount. But there’s an interesting paragraph:
Another 17 pictures — including “The Rivals,” starring Nicole Kidman and Marion Cotillard — stay at Paramount, with Spielberg able to co-finance which ones he chooses. If he doesn’t co-finance, and he’s a producer or director on any of those projects, he’ll get his 7.5% gross deal.
Apparently, Nicole Kidman – currently shooting “Nine” alongside Marion Cotillard – has been attached to play Sarah Bernhardt in this film for something like 5 years. What is it about?
The film is about the rivalry between 19th century stage stars, SARAH BERNHARDT and ELEONORA DUSE – who competed in their careers as well as in social circles and romantically.
More youthful than Bernhardt, Italian-born Duse became a threat to the older actress and, as the rivalry escalated, both would play the same part on the same night to allow critics the chance to compare their performances.
Now, here’s to hoping this project will come off the ground!
First of all many many thanks for all your positive and encouraging comments on the new layout. It means the world to me!
Then I’ve added a picture of Marion Cotillard who attended a birthday party for Alexandre de Betak last Sunday at the end of the Paris Fashion Week. A lot of travelling back and forth from the English Isle and the continent, I dare say.
Paris’ king of runway productions, Alexandre de Betak, said he was “so lucky” to have “Happy Birthday” sung to him by none other than Kylie Minogue at his party Sunday at the tail end of Paris Fashion Week.
“Kylie’s sexy ‘Happy Birthday’ gave me the kick of energy for the next 10 years,” said de Betak. “I was speechless.”
Guests included Marion Cotillard, Guillaume Canet, Audrey Marnay and Joana Preiss.

And the Gallery is back! A HUGE thank you to Gertie from Fan-Sites.org for hosting our extensive gallery & video archives. I’ve been extremely busy transferring all the files to the new server and I hope you won’t come across missing files. If you do please let me know. Over the coming hours also the Television category should be filled with pictures.
Artist Biagio Black (www.biagio.tv) announces the inclusion of his “JUNOESQUE” collection at the 2008 little black dress pop-up boutique. The series was created specifically for the philanthropic event and features 6 foot tall portraits of celebrities including Keira Knightley, Eva Green, and Marion Cotillard in little black dresses. Sales from Black’s exhibit support the Junior League of Los Angeles.
A fashion-forward who’s who of Los Angeles will attend the opening reception of the “JUNOESQUE” exhibit on Wednesday, October 8th at 7:00 pm at the little black dress “Canvas and Couture” event at The Sunset, 8570 W. Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. The artwork will be viewable and available for purchase until Sunday, October 12th.
“Every painting in Biagio’s exhibit captures the essence of being a woman. Their bold colors and expressive complexions showcase every aspect of a woman’s personality: from the sexy vixen to the girl next door,” said Emmy Cortes Kasten, little black dress’ founder. “I feel that his artwork echoes the range of the classic ‘little black dress’ from the formal gala to the casual dinner with a friend.”
“These pieces range from cool to dark dreams. Iconic, distant, soulful. These women are pop culture royalty. The fact that these classism killers are fashionable is inevitable. These iconographic works offer images in simple hi-contrast forms that follow essence,” notes Black.
The buzz around the JUNOESQUE series from private showings has already resulted in numerous commissions for portraitures. Black is currently working on a new series that explores the relationship between celebrity, royalty, and prostitution.
In other news, I have found a solution for the gallery on Friday evening. Ever since my computer hasn’t been turned off, constantly downloading the files from the server and uploading to the new one. Stay tuned!
